Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Thanks OP and everyone.

Pixel 3a owner here. I'm super happy with my existing phone (it helps that I have low expectations), but I'm quite tempted to take the bait on the $300 trade-in.....

However, my only concern giving up the 3a is the loss of free unlimited google photos. I've read in other threads that some people buy the OG Pixel for purposes of unlimited ORIGINAL QUALITY google photos. I understand that backing up picks becomes more cumbersome, but I'm up to the task. My frugality knows no bounds (or rationality).

Does anyone have experience using the OG pixel as a dedicated google photos backup device? This thread seemed awesome: https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePi...le_photos/

So, stupid question. How do I buy an OG Pixel on ebay? Is this an OG Pixel, for example? https://www.ebay.com/itm/393693432608

in checkout on google.
Click more payments.
select paypal - It will redirect you to paypal - sign in - and link google to your paypal
then select discover as your payment.
It will take you back to google to complete the transaction
Your step assume they never use paypal for Google Pay payment before.

If they have use Paypal for Google Pay before and use some other credit card or Bank, Paypal will automatically charge using the "default" (previous) payment without even asking you. Meaning when you select Paypal during checkout and submit the order, it will just complete your order without redirect you to paypal at all if you already sign in to paypal on your browser.

In this case, probably should go to Paypal.com first and look for "Manage automatic payments" Looks for Google and change the payment method BEFORE you do anything at Google store.

Seriously check into finding out about that with the picture unlimited amount on this phone because I think the new pixels are limited they are not unlimited like what yours is og Pixel anymore it might just be worth it to keep your phone and if you really need one in the future like maybe now then just buy it out right I don't know I was thinking the same thing that you were. They're probably trying to get all these old pixels out of everybody's hands so they are not obligated to have to back up all that those TB bites of pictures

So I was able to get the 2% Cashback via R, hopefully get the 5% Discover Cashback credit for checking out with PayPal (I had to link PayPal to Discover by going to the Discover website, on PayPal I had to set Discover as the default payment method). And then I was able to get the 10% Google store credit (of $44.90) after signing up for Google One 2TB for $2.49 (they gave me a promotional rate because I don't have Google One I'll be canceling it after the second month, you need Google One for two months in order to get the credit since it won't apply until 30 days after it ships - at that time you will need to be a Google One member or you won't get the credit).

The Google One store credit shows up on the cart (not the checkout page FYI):

It's $2.49 for 1 month and then $9.99 for the second. The discounted rate shows up when I go to the link I provided in my post. I'll provide it again... If it doesn't show up for you I guess you're not eligible. Make sure you're logged into your Google account as well.

Does anyone know if you can setup the trade for a phone, but possibly change it to a different model still on their list later? I recently moved, and can't find my box with my old Pixel 3a with a cracked screen, but I currently have a perfectly fine Samsung s10e. I'd prefer to trade the 3a, but not sure if I'll be able to find it. I don't want to pass up trading the s10e though if I can't find the 3a. So, anyone know could I go through the checkout process with trading the 3a then swap it later?
