Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

The credit will post in 30 days after the phone ships. So no. I placed 2 different orders and the second order did not apply the first credit.

I keep adding Paypal to my Google account, but then Paypal shows as greyed out in the list of payment options. I've gone around this loop like 5 times. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?

ETA: Went into my account settings and looked at payment methods, Google somehow had my PayPal account marked as closed. Removed from payment methods, re-added, all set now.

Trading in an iPhone 8 for $280. Also have an iPhone 7 but it's only 32GB, same boat as others, not included in the list for trade-in. If anyone has success getting the full $300 for a smaller iPhone 7, please quote me as a heads up. Thanks OP, and thanks to everyone else who added value in this thread...lots of good stuff in here.

The Pixel Buds A-Series have a 4.4 out of 5 stars (721 reviews) on Best Buy, 4.5 out of 5 (212 reviews) on Amazon. These earbuds look pretty good to me based on the customer reviews and the critics. I don't think these are as good in sound quality as my Samsung Buds+ or my JBL Live 300TWS that had bought twice on sale for $33 and $38 but I still think I will like the Pixel Buds A-Series. I think the biggest con to me is its bass accuracy and noise isolation. I will keep them. I don't think it is worth selling on ebay especially if it is soon flooded.

I like the sound from my Buds-A, except there are limited touch control options and battery life is not good. Fit is great and charging time is good also. I wouldn't pay $100 for them though.

Yes it does but you need a dac cable. I have a pixel 6 and ordered a cheap $3 Usb-c to 3.5mm cable off ebay that wouldn't work. I then tried a $7 dac supported cable from Amazon; it works fine.
Item number on Amazon is B099FFTVRN. Looks like the price is up to $9 now but I can confirm that it works with the Aux input in my old Jeep.
Does your DAC USB-to-aux cable work reliably? I purchased one and, because it's run by a chip, I guess, it would not always work, and had to be unplugged and plugged back in. I'm guessing either the Pixel or the USB cable's chip failed to recognize it was physically connected.

Per this Google Store Help page, yes, you will instead receive a Google store credit:
  • "If you return the phone you bought with your trade-in, you'll receive the trade-in value as a Google Store credit in your account."
So yes, this does indirectly mean that if you have a Pixel 3a you don't want and you value Google Store credit - which can be used to buy smartphones and other products - you can kind of game the system by buying the Pixel 6a with the trade-in kit, trade in the Pixel 3a, and then return the Pixel 6a to get a $300 Google Store credit.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic
Can you keep the earbuds? Or would they reduce the credit by $100?

What would you do? I have an iPhone 6 with a badly cracked screen and poor battery. it still works and I just factory reset. It apparently has a $100 trade-in value.
Check Swappa to compare - iPhone 6 sells for $70 if it's in mint condition on Swappa. So $100 for it is a deal especially if that phone is just sitting in a drawer. If you need a phone, 6a will be a good one. If you don't need a phone, sell it on Swappa or eBay. Just my opinion.

Mine seems fine but I've only used it twice. I'm afraid that's not much of a sample size to be confident in my answer..

My 6Pro's front facing camera is horrible in low light... how do you like that ?
i am very much a camera freak and know all the settings to get the best possible pics.

i normally use the the back cam with flash to get best possible pic instead of selfie cam

when using selfie cam i suggest using it will illumination.

since pixel2 no one has ever beaten my pics.

i am do tons of side by side pics with other phones maybe about 10k in total side by side comparisons.

i also make sure the other phones have similar settings to make a fair comparison. i can tell u most ofther phones like iphone and samsung have terrible cameras and nothing more then fake hype

samsung ultra has a very decent zoom but with the last gcam 8.5 update pixel has closed the zoom gap to less then 5% and with the next sept update pixel will overtake on zoom. but the ultra is just a one trick pony and last in other ascpects

iphone on the otherhand is a zero trick pony can only take good pics in perfect lighting but is horrible in most situations. ip13pro is miserably bad in zoom HDR low light and moving pics.

Based on the history of boosted trade in values, this is likely the last chance for the Pixel 3a and Pixel 4/4XL (given that the regular 3 is stuck at $85)

4a and 4a5g can probably hold out an extra year for the 7a next summer, but it's a gamble

When the 5a came out, only iPhones had boosted trade in values, so the only time the 3 had a boosted trade in value was for the 4a5g

almost feel like downgrading from the 6 to 6A. cant stand the sensor. works okay indoors but when im outdoors its like 5% working.
That's not almost a downgrade.... Going from a flagship to a budget phone is a huge downgrade. Smaller screen, worse camera, lower quality screen.

dont do this, you will send in a cracked pixel and they will most likely change it to value $50.
you are basically giving your phone away and buying a new priced one.
its a obvious bait and switch.
does anyone have first hand experiences with googles trade value?
looks like a scam at checkout
