Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Pixel 6 was just on sale for $499 and has a larger display, 90hz, more ram, wireless charging, and probably more. This doesn't seem worth it. If the fingerprint scanner is really that bad on the 6 then it seems like it would make more sense to hold out for the 7.
If it's the first time buying pixel do you suggest getting 6a for this price with a phone trade in value of $100

When chose 6 the same trade in phone value is $15

Wish we could just trade in the phone for straight credit. Don't want this gimped 6a at all
The whole reason they're giving such extremely boosted values for old phones is because they want people to stay in their ecosystem and also adopt their new hardware. They're almost giving away a phone that has the same processor as their most recent flagship phone plus their most recent pixel buds for free. I think it's a win-win for the consumer because the newer phone has better/new hardware and more longevity and features than the older phones. They experienced massive sales growth with the Pixel 6 (380% phone market share increase in north America in the past year - it's a big number bc low market share) and it became their most sold phone ever (sold more than the Pixel 4 and 5 combined). I'm sure they're hoping to get another massive increase in market share with the 6A (afaik it has the best specs in the market for the price it's at, plus the trade-in incentives) and then with subsequent 7 launch later this year.

‡ The final amount refunded to your card may be higher or lower than our estimate if its condition is different than what you indicated in our Trade-in wizard.

This note is on the 10% refund value. I'm guessing if i get $300 off the trade in, the refund % would be reduced too?! And it seems like they would refund after 30 days of shipment, so i have to purchase the 2tb plan for 2 months to qualify... seems like i'm losing money on the deal

The note you're listing is regarding the condition of your trade-in. The amount they refund depends if the phone's condition meets what you selected on the trade-in form. Regarding the store credit due to having a Google One membership, I couldn't find anything indicating the store credit would be reduced. I believe the store credit is fixed - otherwise they'd have shown a reduced store credit amount up front based on the estimated refund amount of the trade-in. So no I don't see them reducing the store credit amount they listed for the purchase on your cart / orders page.

I was hoping that was the case too. But the side note icon is with the 10% refund note. I just placed my order. Hope i can get the $4x refund later.

You're confusing things. The two images are unrelated. The second image is a side note for the trade-in statement of up to $300 back.

i have chat with google support and they said that they will do factory reset for you if your screen didn`t worked.
After reading their terms and conditions, not sure if I trust Google to not screw us over. To be on the safe side, I found this Pixel repair tool by Google that will allow you to do the factory reset from a computer. It's a browser based tool and here's the link https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.co..._selection

You'll need to put your Pixel into Rescue mode and connect it to your computer. Once connected, you should have the option to perform a factory reset using the tool. I can confirm that it works.

Not really much more to add than what I mentioned. I logged in, initiated a chat, got a helpful rep, explained my situation, long history with T-Mobile and gushed about how much I love them, and then asked...wish granted. Yes, it is HUGE YMMV. You can get a dipsh*t, a jerk, a newbie, a person who hates their life, etc. Or you can get a super-friendly person who is totally hapless and can't even find the right promo (I had to patiently explain that the new 6a promo was not one of the other 3 Pixel promos she thought I was talking about). If you are lucky you get someone who is both knowledgeable and helpful, or is at least willing to let you guide them to what the eff you are asking about.

Chat isn't that hard to find.
Dang, I'm a decades old customer on a Magenta plan, but I kept getting told that the new line requirement for a free Pixel 6a can't be waived.

Don't need it, but $280 credit for OP7t is pretty good. I have Pixel 6 and with the latest update, plus custom kernel phone works really well, including a fingerprint sensor. So for a total price of $196 I'll keep 6a as a back up phone, and maybe just maybe it will have a great trade in value for pixel 7.

$300 for my 4A is a deal, otherwise I would have waited for the 7.

Hope it's not trash as I am still happy with the 4A.
