Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Bit the bullet last night. Traded in my pristine 3a which has been a great phone. I had gotten my 3a "free" from T-Mo several years ago after trading in my original Pixel and getting 24 month's of credits back from T-Mo. I had been hoping to trade it in for a "free" phone via T-Mo or Costco as they often do with "credits" and/or Costco shop cards...however, as they say, "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". Should get the full $300 and I used Discover via Paypal for 5%. Now watch as the next deal will come from Costco!
Got my 10% in Google store credit and may use it towards a case and screen protector and/or photo books. I am already on the 2TB storage plan anyway.

Any recommendation for 6a phone case? I don't want to buy pricey cases from Google site.

wonder if it make sense to buy a pixel 3a after the deal is over since you have 30 days to mail it in.

I chatted with them last night about the iPhone 7. Said the trade in value is only for 256. I have a 32gb. They said the value would be "adjusted". And then I asked how much it would be adjusted and they said he has no way of knowing that. Definitely not worth the risk in my opinion.

I think I might try the ottorbox one with the port cover. Even though it's about twice as much as I'd like to spend ($40), I'm a bit concerned about damaging port on a phone w/o wireless charging.. my pixel 3 would've been in the bin a year ago w/o wireless charging

I think many didn't like the Google's decision to abandon Pixel 3a phone's support so quickly. My wife uses Pixel 3a and it is working great. I didn't like to replace her perfectly working phone purchased during Nov 2019 (within 3 years) and I was thinking to move away from Pixel a series.

Now with a $300 trade in credit, free earbuds (worth $100; may be $50 resale value) and 5 years of support, I think it is a great deal to move from Pixel 3a to Pixel 6a.
I really liked my Pixel 3 but the battery was really starting to suck.... don't know how anyone can still be using a 3 unless they replaced the battery.... but the 3 was a great phone in it's time... so was the 2, and I also like the 5a but decided to pull the trigger on this and trade in my 3a... yes, I have too many phones.

Oh... you said 3a... I'm sure those are probably working better than the 3. I did not really use my 3a much but did use my 3.

There's no code, it will show in your google account and the store credit will be given 30 days after your order ships. Note that the credit is for future orders and does not apply as a discount for today's order
Do I need to pay the 2rd month of $9.99 to get that credit or just just one month only?

"don't know how anyone can still be using a 3 unless they replaced the battery..."

Haha I've been constantly charging it throughout the day.. balancing it on a wireless charger in the car, etc. It's getting more difficult in the summer time tho as the phone often gets too hot and won't charge at all

Nice to read your comment as it helps me to justify the upgrade. It was indeed time to move on!!

Thanks for sharing - if you play around with the other iphone models and the ram amount, the difference of the size is minimal at $15-$20. So even if they "adjust" to say $260 for a 32GB model, that's still an incredible trade in value for an iphone 7?

Or they could also say value is $0... so guess we'll never know unless you try.
