Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

6a is considered midrange and priced to match.

Pixel 6a is not their flagship phone, you're thinking Pixel 6 Pro

Took the trade-in deal on Google store. I think it's a very sweet deal to upgrade old phone to this.

I would actually leave the screen protector on, gives it more protection when shipping. I will probably also ship mine in its case. Also, make sure you do a factory reset of the phone before returning.
Don't do that. Ship only what they say exactly. The trade-in box is perfectly fitted to fit the phone and probably won't fit your case anyways. Don't make more work for the employees if they got to remove and throw away your screen protector and case. I have made 3 trade-ins with this trade-in company.

I'm sure it's been said but take screenshots of both trade in values and take a video of the device and it's condition, wouldn't hurt to have a video of you packaging up the device.

I'm not saying they are shady, but I listed mine as no cracks or scratches because I just had the screen replaced a few months ago and I've religiously had a protector on.
If they try to deduct $100 because the back glass is scratched, I'll kindly remind them that it should only be a $40 deduction.

A midrange phone that doesn't have midrange features like headphone jack and microsd slot.

The Pixel 6a is a compromise in every way.

Ya I'm taking a video of my 3a to show that's it's in good working condition and no cracks. I've kept it in a case with screen protector 100% of the time.

Restocking Fee - Google charges up to $55 per phone on phones RETURNED. I confirmed with the CSR that they will NOT waive the fee. The system apparently applies this fee when the refund is processed on return.

Please be aware of this. If you buy the phone - you cannot return unless you want to take a $$ hit.
By the time you find out whether you got the full trade in value, it'll likely be over the 30 day return period. Basically you are screwed if there's any problem with the trade. I'll reiterate take a video of the condition of the phone you are trading in to document its condition, also go to the serial number/model section to verify that's your phone, as you may need to fight to get the full trade in value.

So my Pixel 3a screen is not only cracked but badly shattered. It still works and I can factory reset it though. Would the trade in still be accepted since it turns on with full reset?

I still like the Pixel imprint in the back to unlock. Not sure why they move away from it and make them under glass in front.

That's my situation, but with a 4a,
I don't need a new phone but if they give me the listed price for working with a cracked screen, it's almost too good to pass.

oops, replied to wrong comment Smilie

i have a mint condition pixel 3a XL and on the fence about trade-in. i'd hate to downgrade in physical size (i know it's similar screen size but am i the only person in the world to like bezels?!?), but it would be super nice to futureproof some with more ram and 5G capability.

i still use wired headphones daily on my pixel 3a XL. does the 6a come with an adapter for wired headphones? i think older pixel phones used to come with an adapter. if i find one, can that adapter be used with the 6a?
