Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

I am so jealous of other people now as I was planning to visit a park and take photos with this phone over the weekend. The shipment is lost for now, and they don't deliver over the weekend.
Mine was stuck in Memphis for 2 days then is arriving today.

I had the same exact way for east coast delivery. IT was in Memphis for a day and them moved ahead.

Mine was delivered today... FedEx dropped it off at the end of the driveway, without signiture. We have a container for deliveries, but I was a bit shocked that they just dropped and ran without signiture or person to person contact.

Got mine yesterday. So far, the major heat up was only during the initial setup. Once all the installs were done, it was fine in terms of heat 97f. Got to 98f when playing graphics intense game. No issue with fingerprint scanner either. Seems pretty good for how much it cost but a bit small coming from a 6.7" screen.

That doesn't shock me in the slightest sadly, they are truly awful.

lol, some of you lot sure can instill fear. I jumped on the deal cause of the 3a trade-in then read all the worries over the finger print, heat, camera force closure, etc. here and in various review and was gonna cancel the order but couldn't since it shipped. Just got my 6a a couple of hours ago and now completed the data transfer and setup. Guess my expectation aren't very high cause I'm really happy with the phone. Looks wise I think it's a big improvement over my 3aXL. Love the sage green contrasting against the black. Phone doesn't feel very cheap either despite the back being plastic. Phone got slightly warm during the transfer and app dl process but nothing I felt was unusual (watching youtube on my 3aXL for extended periods made that phone feel warmer). Now the phone feels normal temp wise. Biggest annoyance so far was after the setup was completed having to log in again and setup some of the apps that didn't transfer exactly . I've taken a bunch of pics and have no problems, using Nova and no problem, no issues with the finger print scanner (did record multiple entries of the same finger), and actually like the new gesture action over the ever present back and home buttons. Well, we all use the phone differently. Lol, I hope I'm not jinxing it and this thing turns to poop but so far I really like the phone.

Maybe the fingerprint experiences are a matter of expectations... I just watched a 6a review video where the guy was unlocking with the fingerprint and he called it slow. He was doing the same thing I do, with his 6a reacting the same as mine does, and I don't have a problem with it. Mine unlocks in about half a second if I keep my thumb on it, is that bad/slow?

I'm not sure what people are expecting because this is my first screen thumbprint phone... I guess I haven't used a "good" one before so I'm ignorant.

I confrrmed it's half second response even turn on the touch sensitivity option. And it is slow comparing with my 4 years old phone which is response instantly.

They should've just kept it the same as the 5a imo with obviously updated internals but headphone jack and fingerprint reader on the back with a 90hz display. Would've been perfect.

JUST TOOK 100 PICS in different lighting. Compared side by side with my 3a+ and the 6a not only is faster to open the camera and refresh after each shot, the pics are awesome and switching lenses is a breeze. They are WAY better pictures than the 3a +. Same sensor - smarter brain.

I used "magic eraser" and was delighted. No overheating with mine - even taking videos. If you are still waiting and worrying, stop it. This phone is awesome for the price.

So happy I got it!

If you've used the previous fingerprint readers on the back of the Pixels then you will know it's a downgrade. However, it's been working well enough for me... certainly better than my "even crappier" Samsung A51 which often didn't read my fingerprint correctly during multiple tries... so I think it will do. It's just sad that it's a downgrade when there was no good reason to downgrade it (at least in my view). I mean what if they had downgraded the cameras from the Pixel 5a too???? Doesn't make any sense.

I currently have a 3 XL with T-Mobile. Just ordered the 6a from Google store UNLOCKED.

When I get the phone delivered, do I just take the SIM card from my my 3 XL and put it in the 6a?
