Visible is a better deal at $25 (no taxes). Unlimited data and mobile hotspot. Uses Verizon network.

Regardless of your personal beliefs when deals are posted by carriers(and most people on slickdeals) they typically discuss talk/text and data. Tethering/mobile hotspot has always been a separate category where a small percentage of the customer base uses the largest amount of data vs other users. The only close competitor to this at the same price point is visible on Verizon's network using the "party plan". It does include hotspot so perhaps you should look there instead of complaining here.
Again, the ad was "Unlimited Everything", not "Unlimited Data". If it were advertised as Unlimited Data, I wouldn't have said anything.

Hi jokealot,

Taxes and fees are due at checkout.

-Boost Mobile
Why should I choose this over the $25/month Visible plan which is also unlimited, but unlike Boost, includes all taxes and fees AND has mobile hotspot AND uses Verizon's network?

Legit scam company!!! I was on the phone with 4 different customer rep. Three times dropped by them coz they can't locate my sim card yet. The order number I received via email doesn't do squat. No tracking number for the SIM kit yet.

I started a dispute with my credit card company.

Do not waste your time trying to get this deal.

Thankfully I used a virtual card at least I don't have to deal with removing my autopay.
I don't know that they're a "legit scam company" (which is a funny oxymoron) just "coz" you had problems

Depends on how well Visible works for you and your area.

On my end the download is 2-3 Mbps and upload is 7-8. Some days you can't even load a page or google maps.

If Boost included hotspot and speeds are better and more reliable I would consider the minor tax premium.

True or false, a typical consumer would understand a mobile plan ad that advertises "Unlimited Everything" to mean that it would be an unlimited data plan.

True or false, a typical consumer would understand a mobile plan ad that advertises "Unlimited Everything" to mean that the consumer could use that unlimited data however they want?

This isn't really something that reasonable people could debate. "Unlimited Everything" obviously means unlimited data, and "Unlimited Everything" obviously means there are no limits on how the customer can use their supposedly unlimited data. Had I been like, "Hey, you said 'Unlimited Everything', yet you don't include unlimited international roaming! False advertising!", you could have objected and said that I'm asking too much from a $25/mo promo plan.

Nobody would understand a mobile ad for "Unlimited Everything" to mean unlimited hookers or blackjack or kitchen sinks. You have no reason to to mock me here, other than that this is the Internet and we all know how some people behave on the Internet.

By the way, I can't think of any good reason to take this Boost plan over Visible's $25/mo plan. Visible includes hotspot, taxes and fees, calls to Canada and Mexico, and does not require autopay. Some might argue that Visible is a bit janky, which it is, but Boost comes with plenty of its own jank, so pick your poison. It's $25/mo. You can't, after all, expect the moon and stars.
True or false, a typical consumer would not use anywhere close to 30gb?

True or false, a typical consumer would not use a mobile hotspot let alone know what it is?

You probably shouldn't use "typical consumer" in your argument for this. Wink

Well since this new plan that will be around forever, it might be wise to let them catch up on the customer service and equiptment support before jumping in the pool. I am not a big data user, but I am fimiliar with Mint and Tello and they will work with my phones. I would be with visible now, but the phone they sold me 2yrs ago wont work on their network now and I am still waiting for 5g not to be a premium priced phone.

I know Boost (Dish Network) has big plans for their network when they are fully up and running, but I read some where Direct TV is woried the use of that spectum may interfere with the Direct TV reception.. Then again I read it on a Google news feed, and that is always suspect.. All the news they get paid to print..

This price is very competitive. Tello unlimited (25 GB) has lot less taxes than other providers. Also, Tello has unlimited international calls. I would be paying $38+ (including tax and international call fee) if I switch from Tello unlimited to Boost unlimited. FYI, Tello monthly charge is $29.30 for unlimited call (including international), Text and Data (25 GB
). The Boost mobile new unlimited price is really good if I don't need international calls.

Thanks kjunk for the heads up. Was going to ask who still carries unlimited international calls outside the Americas (i.e. Africa, Asia, Australia and / or Europe).

RedPocket and Unreal just dropped a lot of countries off their unlimited list (through Elite), so, it's time to find a different carrier that still allows unlimited intl. calls.

Lol that's savage. The normal plans all have hotspot data. So this isn't really a great deal then
