Don't mean to crap on this thread but run as far away as possible from Boost Mobile. I've tried them twice and horrible experience both times. Out of all the MVNOs I've tried (and I've tried most) I can't imagine recommending any other than RedPocket GSMA.

Yeah! Legacy Virgin Mobile customer here -- for years of being charged for every scam text and scam voicemail on a pre-paid plan (20 cents each!), I blocked them through the carrier -- took forever, but we made it happen!

You bought Virgin Mobile, and forced me onto a monthly unlimited plan. But my VMs and inbound texts are still shutdown. Your staff has NO idea how to solve it -- they keep having me do stupid things like "reboot the phone" and say "the app isn't compatible".

Sad thing is, a family member has THE EXACT SAME SETUP (minus the blocking -- they never blocked VMs or inbound texts), and it works 100% just fine. Your service staff have no idea what they're doing. Who do I need to throw money at to fix this? Seriously. I'll PAY for this support if I have to, I just want to be able to get texts now.

Visible deal still smokes any of these other pre paid carriers, actually unlimited even though it is deprioritized you're not stuck at 2g speeds after a certain allotment of data.

Even when data is slow I can almost always stream video, it just takes a bit to get going.

Hi,

Yes up to 30GB after which your speeds will be lowered instead of cut off completely.

So, I'm wondering if anybody has run into similar problems as I have…
I signed up for the account online. After two weeks (!) I FINALLY received the SIM card in the mail. I followed the directions that came with the SIM, and went to boostmobile.com/welcome to register the SIM.
Here are the many problems I'm encountering:

1. When I try to register the SIM I get a message, stating that there is no active account - even though the Boost app shows my account information correctly.

2. There is already an unknown phone's IMEI showing on my account, even though I have yet to enter one.

3. When I try to change my IMEI to be MY phone's IMEI, I get prompted to enter my phone number and PIN, but I receive a message that one and/or the other is incorrect, so I get no further.

4. When I attempt the "Forgot PIN" link (even though I already know my PIN is correct), I get a database error message, stating that my phone number cannot be found. (I entered the phone number showing in Boost One app).

5. I contacted Boost three separate times to have them correct the IMEI number.
The first person first said she would make the change, but the system was currently down.
The second person said he had changed the IMEI to match my phone, but 24 hours later, it's still showing the original, incorrect IMEI.
The third person could not find my account by phone number, ICCID number, or either IMEI. She then told me that the account should be in the new system, and transferred me to a different department.
The fourth person had similar results with searching for my account, but somehow found it. Although she sounded more knowledgeable, she was unable to get my IMEI to be accepted by the system.

So here I am. I still cannot use their service.

Although the last agent said it shouldn't be an issue; I'm wondering if the problem is that I'm attempting to use the IMEI of an unlocked AT&T iPhone X that is still on an active AT&T account. I took out the AT&T SIM out a few days ago, and have left the Boost SIM in, but to no avail.
Even if that were the problem, that doesn't explain why my new account already has somebody else's phone on it.

Does anybody have any tips for me (other than just giving up on Boost)?
Thanks!
I am literally having the same issues as you are.

As for the IMEI/Cell that is associated with the Boost Mobile account, I was told by Boost customer service that it is just a "dummy" IMEI number for the account until the service is active. I have been trying to activate my service for 3 weeks now. I have tried phone customer service and going in person to a Boost mobile store to no avail. Only text and data work on my phone but not I cannot receive or make calls. Ultimately, I was told that my phone was too old to be used on Boost Mobile. I did check the BYOD link on the Boost Mobile website and the site reported that my phone I was bringing over was compatible with Boost Mobile.

Just horrible customer service.

Before TMobile bought Sprint, Boost was using Sprint network. I think they have some sort of IMEI database, if your phone IMEI is not in there, it cannot be activated. I have tried an unlocked internationla all bands phone, had to give up and left boost.

do they still lock your phone down to a sim card? reason I left was because I too had a great $25 unlimited plan but my phone had a lousy battery and my replacement phone was incompatible with my plan

I just wanted to share that I bought Boost Mobile SIM cards and service for my whole to switch over from a big name company. I asked for my family's phone #'s to be ported over to Boost Mobile. I ended up being on the phone for 7 hours over 3 days and they could not get their systems to work.

There is Boost Mobile legacy department and Boost Mobile new network department. After speaking to 7 representatives, they could not get their system to work to do the simple task of porting our phone numbers over. I asked for a full refund and switched to Mint Mobile. Night and day.
