I started playing this game from ME1 having never played this series. I have always heard about this and never took the second look this game deserved and I am sorely regretting it. If you can get past the dated gameplay and rigid controls ME1 still stands on its own as a solid masterpiece. The lore in this game is incredible and it's honestly like reading a really good book. This is only the third time in my life I read absolutely everything a game had in text format. That being said whatever they did to the graphics in the remaster is nice and even though it came out in 2007 it still looks really good outside of the level design and older textures.
ME2 is like playing a passion project from ME1. The continuation of choices I made in the first one are showing heavily in the story and lore in the second one and it is honestly incredible even to today's standards. I am halfway through ME2 right now but honestly besides the controls still being a bit stiff the graphics from the 3 year difference from ME1 show big time.
This series is well worth a first play or even a second play through if you enjoyed it in the past. Between the graphical and quality of life improvements and the DLC this would be worth the full price tag at $60 for me.
In conclusion I will be buying this even though I currently have it on game pass. Even if I never play it again the $20 is worth it just to support the developers. I say get it and don't even wait for a price drop especially if you don't have game pass 😀

Yes 100%! Plus some quality of life control improvements and graphical overhaul especially the first game
This is kind of true for Xbox. Since this is a Smart Delivery game on the Xbox consoles, only the Xbox One version of the files are on the disc. If you're on Series X, it'll end up downloading the entire game after you insert the disc. If you disconnect from the internet and force it to install from disc, the game won't actually boot on Series X, it'll say it needs and update and you have to go online, which at that point it'll re-download the entire game. So just be aware of that.
