While some dogs can be allergic to corn, the most common allergy among dogs is to a protein source. If you are trying to identify why your dog has itchy skin talk to your vet. They will recommend trying a hypoallergenic diet or a novel protein diet for a few months and then slowly add back in different proteins to identify which is the problem. Grains are healthy for dogs to eat and should not be avoided. Grain free diets have been linked to a severe heart issue called dilated cardiomyopathy. Be sure to consult with your vet before eliminating food from your dogs diet.

Dog Food Advisor is not scientifically determined and veterinary nutritionists do not support their inconsistent amateur methodology. The site frequently misinterprets data like ingredients, scientific consensus, and regulations. They lean into fear-based skepticism on ingredients that have no credible reason to be avoided.

Also many don't realize the doctor who runs the site is a human dentist.

Consider researching the credibility and errors of the site before trusting them like a veterinary or nutritional formulation expert with certifications (feel free to find other sources, this is just an example):

And on the fearful myths about corn that Dog Food Advisor has perpetuated without research, from a Vet and DACVN who can speak to nutritional science (again, feel free to find other expert sources in your time):

Good quality food. I've been giving my dogs this food for two years. No issues.

Would recommend Kirkland (Costco) dog food for anyone looking for something relatively cheaper ( I think it's under $1/lb in-store) for much higher quality of ingredients.
Purina One > Diamond products

"Much higher quality of ingredients," LOL.

Agreed with all the posters above - dogfoodadvisor rates it a 3/5 which is pretty low.

This should be considered a terrible product. There's much better out there for comparable price.
List them.

Kirkland food is made by Diamond if anyone is curious to know.
Which, unfortunately, is not a positive trait.
