See those dates one is within 6 months the other in the last month. The x60 is as stable as it gets but also varies on the hardware version there are over 4 of them.

Tp-Link does regular updates and has for over 2 years now for almost all their product lines (deco 100%), but if something is not broken then why try to fix it, unlike a few other brands who fix one thing and break another so they have to rush to push another firmware out, I wont name names but you probably know who that is.

I can't recommend tp-link routers if you have a direct connection to fiber, you will have issues over time. On the upside, Costco had no problem with my return.
Just went through the thread. So are you basically saying that if the fiber internet is disrupted at the ISP, the home LAN network (cameras, NAS, various smart devices etc. relying on the LAN) stops working?

Is there another mesh system/brand that you recommend for fiber?

I can understand having an optional subscription for functionality with running server costs (like external firewalls), but HomeShield Pro comes off as TP-Link double-dipping for basic router functionality. There are no running costs for pausing Internet on a certain device or showing detailed client information, so why does TP-Link charge a monthly fee for those features? DDoS protection is a standard feature on most routers (even non-mesh models), why is it behind a paywall here?

It gives you the option for 6GHz dedicated backhaul or 6GHz backhaul + Wi-Fi network (separate from 2.4/5). I run the main network as 5GHz only and 2.4GHz only in guest network, with the 6GHz the same name as the 5GHz. It does say devices won't be able to connect to 6GHz band if they don't support WPA3

Just look for any mesh that has a clearly labeled WAN port and your good to go.

Pretty much identical in wifi 6 performance except this also has wifi 6E which is honestly not that much better than standard Wifi 6. Both units at the router should be getting around 800-900Mbps at their max to a proper client with optimized setting for performance.

Is this too much to use as a Wi-Fi extender ? My media room is in upstairs and streaming movies sucks . Any info would be helpful .

I recently upgraded fro x60 to this and i dont know how but my internet speed went up. It makes 0 sense cause no way my wifi was the limit. Im on 200MBps i was getting 240 now i get 340. Long time ago i tried with lan and it was 240. Anyways that is probably a coincidence but the coverage with this is much better i get the full speed even in backyard and 0 issues so far. With x60 i had total wifi drop once in a few months

Mesh systems are basically smart extenders. They automatically switch to the adapter that is closest to the the device and then send it to the base or another closer mesh closer to the uplink. I have one in the basement where my cable comes in attached to my cable modem, and then another on the main floor, and a third on the 2nd floor, and get very good WiFi all over my house, and even into my yard and garage.

Got the 6hz network, do phones seamlessly switch between the 6hz to the 5/2.4ghz network when the 6hz becomes available? I heard the 6hz has really poor range.

Same Here, orbi made us cry will Ring cams. No issues with Tp link. I think it's better to update less frequently but update quality firmware.

If you have Spectrum, Spectrum quietly increased their entry level tier from 200 to 300mbps and bumped the second tier from 400 to 500.

I put my6E TP-Link Decos in Gateway mode and running OPNSense on a Mac Mini. Will never, ever go back!
