Most Home Depots with rental centers in them can take care of Ridgid warranty issues and for batteries covered by the LSA, you just make a phone call to get replacements.
If you don't need new tools then don't buy, buy things as they go on sale. I have orange tools and buy maybe 1-2 new tools a year at lows or via direct tool outlet. For example I scored 4x 4ah batteries from DTO last year for $90. Cheap. The fact that you can get all that for $400 is a really good deal though. I've never seen them do the free tool promo as aggressively as they are now. I think ryobi may have been doing too well recently.
As always with tools wait till you need them.
They are coming out with new tools all the time. They just released the new 7-1/2 and Subcompact 6-1/2" circular saws recently as well as the new impact ratchets only weeks ago. Three new impact wrenches should be hitting the shelves soon. In the last year several new Subcompact tools have come out (one handed reciprocating saw, right angle drill, etc). They have four new lights coming out (at least one a fold out hybrid), a, new 8 Ah Max Output battery coming out, two new blue tooth radios on the way, a heat gun, a new grinder. They just released a new hand vac and fan within the last couple of months or so. A new staple gun is on the way as well. Dead brand? Um, no, not even close.

Not sure.
I gave up on their LSA. You gotta live near their LSA repair contractors for any repair. Good luck on your drive/gas.
Sucks to see their blue logo Octane line go away. Ridgid batteries became like Makita; all in one size with different amperage

Only thing that comes to mind are impact wrenches. Regardless this is the lowest I've seen these that wasn't YMMV.
Good deal if you need it.

I think it's their new brushless tools. But even then, they don't explicitly say. I only say this because their new brushless tool kit (the one with 2 batteries and an oscillating tool, drill and impact, etc) come with them. Just a guess though.

Lots of online videos compare max output to the older style. They are interesting to watch.
I don't NEED new tools but I am having a hard time passing up the value. For $400 in store you can get the brushless 4 tool combo (hammer drill, impact driver, multi tool, reciprocating saw, one 2Ah battery, one 4Ah battery, charger, bag) plus two free tools - thinking the two 4Ah batteries ("$199 value") and a 7 1/4" brushless circular saw ($179 value).
I could swap the free batteries for something else, buy this three pack of batteries, and have six actual tools + five batteries for $520.00
I can't find any such comparisons. I can find comparisons of the old style regular 4 Ah vs the new regular 4 Ah, as well as the old Octane 3 Ah vs the new Max Output 4 Ah, but I cannot find a single video comparing the newer style regular 4 Ah against the 4 Ah Max Output.

The brand won't go away. HD is too large of a company to not have a private label brand. The cheap prices are probably due to inventory surplus. While team yellow or team red can sell at other stores (lowes, menards, amazon), ridgid orange is only sold at HD. So you will only see sales at HD.
