I have two Nokia 5.3 in my family. It was updated from version 10 to version 11 only a year after the release of android 11. And actually that's all. No more updates, except for critical ones a few times a year. So this phone will probably see one major update at best and that's it. In one of the two phones, stripes went off just after the end of the warranty.

Is it just me or does this phone look like it's from a decade ago? Not criticizing the deal, honestly I don't know if this is a good price for the phone or not but that thick border and curved edges reminds me of the original iPhone.

I have this phone and it's the best phone I've ever had. I have 3 cracked pixels in my drawer so I'm tough on my phones... Got this one when it was released and it has held up through everything. I had it tumble of a 15 foot cliff into a mountain stream. Fished it out and it was not cracked and still worked.
Thanks OP, I'm getting another one to gift.

Definitely avoid. No 5G on AT&T. No Verizon support. There isn't any listed bands to see if T-Mobile has full support. At this price you might as well go for the Samsung A53 or Pixel 6A with a rugged case. Looks like they rebagged the older XR20 and tossed in a 5G modem.

Wrong. Just a little googling would show you that "XR20 has extensive LTE and sub-6GHz 5G support globally, and works on AT&T and T-Mobile in the US" https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/nokia-xr20
I actually have this phone and it works great on TMobile with 5G all day in my area.

You can get the full bands list here: https://www.nokia.com/phones/en_u...50D9FI1CN0

The listing itself by Nokia says it doesn't work on Verizon or 5G on AT&T.

This price still seems kinda steep for a Snapdragon 480 phone.

Was just gonna say this. 480 for $400? Hard pass. The 480 is not a fast processor.

I bet you that my wife could break it. There's rugged and then there's wife-proof.

Why would anyone wanna buy an SD480 equipped phone for $400? And am surprised there are so less TDs here. This isn't Nokia. Its HMD's phone with Nokia's name slapped on it because they acquired the naming license.

If you are really into rugged phones, Samsung also have them. HMD's phone and their promise? Nah

HMD has lied in the past about OS upgrades so their claims should be taken by the grain of salt.

The OP hid the specs on SoC because he knew it would have been TD immediately. You can buy an exceptionally working and well equipped phone for $400 and if you really want it to be rugged, just slap a rugged case on it
