Anyone know the RPM? Amazon says it's 5000.

I ordered one. I'll see if it works well as storage on my XSX.

Everything I've read says it's a 5400 RPM drive.

7200 rpm for xbox and ps5 storage is a must.
5400 RPM for a gaming hard drive is just bad advertising

Most portable external HDDs are 5400, which is fine for playing PS4 and Xbox One games. The RGB trend in gaming is silly imo, but this is a good price for a 2 TB external portable drive. Lower than any 2 TB drives I saw during quick look.

.

I have a old NUC that I use as a Channels DVR / Plex server. I have been using a 1tb external drive for the plex server side that I got from wallmart for $25. I would have shucked that drive for internal use, but the Canvio drive has the fricken usb soldered on to the drives main board making in compatible to use as a internal drive.

Any one ever shuck this drive?

is it a 9mm thick drive inside?

Any one ever buy the 2.5 inch Fire-Cuda hd (just the plain drive, not this external drive) for laptop / PC use? I fear the large cache makes it kind of fragile if power fails.. Is that a real world concern?

I have a couple of those same drives that were 25 at Walmart but one just started to fail already…and Toshiba "warranty" support is treacherous. I barely used the drive too. Another one my boy has for PS5 and he says it has been fine but I don't figure it to go far either. These drives were duds I think that's why they were clearing them out.

Every time I see these drives on sale, I have this little inner Ann Wilson voice start singing....

"Oooooooo.....Firecuda!"
