Most portable external HDDs are 5400, which is fine for playing PS4 and Xbox One games. The RGB trend in gaming is silly imo, but this is a good price for a 2 TB external portable drive. Lower than any 2 TB drives I saw during quick look.

I have a old NUC that I use as a Channels DVR / Plex server. I have been using a 1tb external drive for the plex server side that I got from wallmart for $25. I would have shucked that drive for internal use, but the Canvio drive has the fricken usb soldered on to the drives main board making in compatible to use as a internal drive.
Any one ever shuck this drive?
is it a 9mm thick drive inside?
Any one ever buy the 2.5 inch Fire-Cuda hd (just the plain drive, not this external drive) for laptop / PC use? I fear the large cache makes it kind of fragile if power fails.. Is that a real world concern?

I have a couple of those same drives that were 25 at Walmart but one just started to fail already…and Toshiba "warranty" support is treacherous. I barely used the drive too. Another one my boy has for PS5 and he says it has been fine but I don't figure it to go far either. These drives were duds I think that's why they were clearing them out.

Everything I've read says it's a 5400 RPM drive.
