You were right, I had to redeem the Gold codes first then join up with Ultimate again for $15 but then it gave me the option to convert my gold sub to Ultimate so I'm good for the next 3 years for about $65 all told. Thanks a lot!

Yes and no, you will likely need to pay $15 for first month of GPU to sign up again. The $1 promo price is usually for new subscribers, so it's YMMV on that part.

Also worth noting the extra 1 month for recurring billing is also YMMV.

FYI you can find Xbox Live Gold 3 month codes for cheap on Eneba as well. Lowest price on there is currently $5.07.

You were right, I had to redeem the Gold codes first then join up with Ultimate again for $15 but then it gave me the option to convert my gold sub to Ultimate so I'm good for the next 3 years for about $65 all told. Thanks a lot!

Yeah you screwed up... all you can do now is redeem the codes for 50 days of GPU.

I keep seeing these deals pop up and mostly ignored them because I signed up for GPU awhile back and topped it off with a bunch of $20 3 month subs from bb and target.

Been having issues with my son not being able to download games on his xbox at his mother's house because I'm not signed in.. this solves that problem. Now he's got 33 months of ultimate for $49.. pretty sweet deal.

Yeah I've been topping off my own GPU subscription since getting it in 2019 at launch. At that time I had existing Xbox Game Pass and XBL Gold subs, and bought 2 years XBL Gold from Costco to max out GPU to 3 years. Cost me about $120 total to max out my sub, which was a good price back then. For a couple years, I bought GPU 3 month codes whenever they went on sale (typically during Black Friday time) for $20 - $25. I didn't think Microsoft would still allow conversions at this point, but here we are.

My GPU sub is currently set to expire in June 2025. Not sure if I'll keep topping it off or just let it expire. But anyone that isn't subbbed now or is about to expire should do the conversion method. Hard to predict when Microsoft will raise prices, so best to max out on 3 years for cheap.
