You were right, I had to redeem the Gold codes first then join up with Ultimate again for $15 but then it gave me the option to convert my gold sub to Ultimate so I'm good for the next 3 years for about $65 all told. Thanks a lot!

Awesome mine just expired so I jumped on it. I messed up the order and bought the 1 month of ultimate first, but I was able to cancel it and follow the normal steps. Everything cleared fine and now I'm all topped up.

There is no other way. Once you have an active GPU subscription, you can't stack Xbox Live Gold at the 1:1 conversion rate. And you can't downgrade nor cancel GPU. You have to wait until your sub expires.

No, the offer for the extra month was given, but with the +1 with GPU already maxed me out, so it didn't add anything extra.

So if I were to do this again, I would have only bought 8 instead of 9.

Worked great for me. My GPU had expired and I was using PC Game Pass. Cancelled that. Turned off recurring and followed the instructions above. Excellent post.

Managed to get it, I just had to call them up and they managed to refund my subscription and then I just went through the process of adding it. So it worked for me.

The remaining time on your PC Game Pass subscription should have been automatically converted into GPU as well. Did you check your GPU expiration date?
