  • About this Deal:
    • Comes As Is: Warranty does not apply, and we do not accept refunds or returns
    • What is distressed inventory?
      • Every once in a while, we overstock an item, and it ends up sitting in our warehouse for longer than we'd like. When that happens, we take some of the mattresses out of the box and let them decompress to see how they're doing. Some of the mattresses we took out of the box didn't decompress as much as they should, so the overall performance and comfortability aren't as consistent as we'd like.
    • What does that mean for you?
      • When you buy a distressed inventory mattress, that means the mattress isn't perfect and the performance and comfortability vary from item to item. However, you're also getting a great deal on one of our most popular mattresses. We do not accept refunds or returns on items sold as is. All sales are final.
  • About this Store:
    • Seller linenspa is rated 98.1% Positive from over 1,600 feedback in the past 12 months with over 24k lifetime feedback.
    • Returns: Seller does not accept returns, you are still covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee- eBay Money Back Guarantee - opens in a new tab or window if you receive an item that is not as described in the listing.

I bought several mattresses two years ago that were tightly rolled up and sealed. The manufacturer is owned by a friend of the family. He explained how revolutionary the process is and how the mattresses would be shipped for far less money but expand perfectly upon arrival. Well, they didn't. Apparently they sat on the truck for too long and all of the mattresses did not fully expand in the corners. We got such a good deal on them, and being sent from a friend, we did not say anything. But that's the last time I'll buy a mattress that comes rolled up. I absolutely believe that some of these mattresses may not fully expand just like what happened to the corners of my mattresses.

Bed in a box can, and will degrade over (much) time. Coils want to be decompressed back to their natural state. That said, a good hybrid with individual pocketed coils will only show minor, and targeted defects, even in worst case scenarios. Think of it as you might a TV, wherein one pixel blows instead of a whole panel.

Innerspring with typical interlocked coils? "Pillow tops" made from rejected cotton balls? Couldn't pay me enough to go back to that ancient, dated garbage. Technologies change. Some people's opinions don't simply because they don't try new things.

This is probably a safe/good buy, but because it's only an 8" mattress, don't expect top tier quality.

I have a queen and 2 twin Linenspa mattresses bought new (identical to these) from Amazon and they are an excellent value and comfortable to the point that guests are complimentary, especially with a memory foam topper.

That being said, these ebay ones sounds like they can have a lot of variability *if* they have already been opened and uncompressed from the box.

If it comes unopened in the box this is a good deal not sure how you can verify that before ordering though.
From what i see they just open a few for quality control and to test them. These bed in a box don't have a long shelf life when compressed

I just bought a 12" mattress after only sleeping on 8 and 10" before and what a difference.

For a guest room this is good

I've had this exact model in queen for my guest bed, which I've been sleeping on for 2 years now because my 4 year old kicked me out of my room. Surprisingly comfortable and good quality. I'm 6 ft 190lbs.

So on the fence….daughter needs full sized mattress for senior year college house….
If you're sold on this style/brand, then buy it from Target. At least you can return it if there's a problem.

You absolutely believe exactly what the manufacturer is saying?

Anyone happen to know if you can utilize a credit card's warranty program if you happen to get a bad mattress? I've never used it before and most people forget that it's a feature on some credit cards (I have it on my Chase Freedom Visa & Chase Amazon Visa). But the question is would they warranty anything bought on eBay, even if it's the manufacturer's eBay store? Thanks in advance if anyone knows! I'm considering buying a full size one since need to replace a guest room's. I also wanna try it since it's a hybrid of springs and memory gel foam vs my Casper 12" memory foam mattress I got from Costco a few years back.
What do you mean if you happen to get a bad mattress? They're literally telling you these are bad mattresses.

Oh I'm actually 100% against mattresses in boxes. Like a cheap innerspring that has never been rolled up is infinitely better than even a very expensive mattress in a box. It's almost a scam they are running on people. I was going to pick one of these up for a spare mattress just to have but I will never go back to any mattress in a box for my actual own bed - memory foam is a terrible alternative to a nicely padded, high quality innerspring with a pillow top even if it's a cheap one. In fact, now I'm second guessing myself and probably won't buy one. My guests deserve better.
Tempur is the highest rated mattress and it's foam.

Pretty risky deal. You're getting a mattress that didn't inflate properly - but there's no way of knowing how bad it actually is. And you won't be able to return it.

The
The only types of mattresses and bedding guaranteed to be free of them are 100% latex, 100% cotton, or 100% wool. And they are very expensive.
I wouldn't say that latex is terribly expensive relative to other bedding options if you consider price per use. A high quality latex mattress may outlive most of us, and you can find them from solid sellers at around $2,000 to $3,000 for a 100% talalay King size. I know because I just did the research and bought one earlier this year. Compared to friends who went with the Sleep Number for like $6,000 and are already noticing foam degradation no more than 5 or 6 years in, I think an investment into latex mattresses is probably a pretty inexpensive and wise one, comparatively. Last I checked, the big names in the industry were peddling their 'premium' tier of mattresses for 4,000 or so, and those are filled with garbage foam, pillow tops, and so on that's likely to breakdown prematurely. They have a vested interest in making sure you're comfortable for a time, but then return to the market sooner than later.

Again though, everyone should do their own research and the best place I found to do that was Mattress Underground. They actually appear to be objective hobbyists rather than salespeople trying to push products, which is what you'll encounter on most mattress info sites.
