Innerspring with typical interlocked coils? "Pillow tops" made from rejected cotton balls? Couldn't pay me enough to go back to that ancient, dated garbage. Technologies change. Some people's opinions don't simply because they don't try new things.
This is probably a safe/good buy, but because it's only an 8" mattress, don't expect top tier quality.

If someone reminds me I can post a pic in a couple days when it is fully expanded.
Anyway, if you're still scared, leave the mattress in a hot car (above 120F) for a day if you live in a hot area. Or, just leave it in a corner in your garage or basement for 6-9 months. They die after that time period if they don't feed. Make sure you do this after you inflate/open it up. Don't heat/freeze/store it in the compressed state.

As an argument, I think this is a non-starter, it is more likely we will introduce bed bugs to the clean mattress, from our travels to hotels etc.
I wonder how much if at all, the mattress will degrade when left in the evacuated state. Does anyone have experience with a mattress in a box that was unopened for an extended time period?

Box came extremely beat up, with half the tape missing and the rest barely hanging on.
Mattress came rolled up and wrapped in few layers of plastic film, then bag.
I actually have another Linenspa mattress and am familiar with how they're packaged and as I was removing the plastic film, I could tell the bag surrounding the mattress was not vacuum sealed. This was confirmed as the bag showed a large partial tear/rip at the top of the bag (definitely was not cut/sliced when I was removing the plastic film, otherwise it would have been a clean cut vs ragged tear).
I fear that they gave me a previously opened mattress (e.g. potentially a customer return?) vs 'distressed' stock. Did anyone else have a similar experience?
