Not terrible. But who is the user that cares about fancy OLED screen but will accept only 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD? Remember, for all things, there is a reason they are on sale: few/no one is buying them otherwise

I'm all excited with the specs and then...8 GB RAM. Seriously, Asus?

I got this for $500 from Best Buy last month. For that price I'm fine with the 8gb RAM, any higher I would probably not have bitten. It works great for what I use it for. The screen is great, battery life is meh.

How is the fan noise?

When the fan kicks on you will definitely hear it. It also gets pretty warm. There is an option in the ASUS software to set the fan mode to silent but I just leave it on balanced. The noise doesn't really bother me.

If it says lpddr5 it means it's not upgradeable because it's lower power ram. Those are ram chips that are always soldered on.

I also bought it for $500 from Best Buy, which is ridiculously low for what you get here.

The screen is so good - hard to believe until you see it.
The screen of my Dell XPS 9510 OLED literally pales in comparison to the point that I rarely use it now.
Even Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ 120Hz OLED (which I use as a wireless monitor here) looks less vivid side-by-side.

Yes, 8GB may be a pain, but I did everything I could - added 2TB Samsung 980 PRO, cleaned up Windows 11 to a bare minimum, and it does 95%+ of things I need just fine.
