Thoughts on "Hyper Tough" as a legitimate, credible cordless power tool system?

I have a hard time taking them seriously (the name alone!), but still, $99 for a credible 2-battery 4.0 MAh 40V system would be amazing!

Anyone know if these are made by TTI like HART, Ryobi and Milwaukee?

note that each battery is 20V - so you have to use both together to operate i.e. not a spare like I originally thought.

Also IMHO 16" is too small for a lawn. I got the Ryobi 20" for a little bit more at one of the DTO sales last year and its been good.

They are not made by the same company. hyper tough is a Chervon product whereas HART is made by TTI. Hyper tough is a couple notches lower in quality but very affordable.

Concur. Anything below 20 inches for a mower your going to have to do many passes unless you have a small lawn.

Yup! Any good sized yard needs at least a 22 or 24 inch deck...

These are only really good for very small lawns.

This could be great in California. No water - no lawn. Just weeds and I am sure it will mow the few weeds that are left growing.

I know everyone likes cordless, but I have a Craftsman (e.g. Black and Decker) plug in model and it has worked out very well and the power is OK. Yes moving the cord can be a pain at times, but you just learn the best way to mow the lawn to minimize any risk of running over the cord. I am glad I am not waiting hours or having to plan ahead to charge the battery or plan on a battery expense down the road.

Not true. It's made by Chervon based on product page in Walmart. Same manufacturer for Ego. I received mine and can confirm this.
