This is me as well. I'm hoping for a deal on either a Cuisinart CPT-122 as a short term option or a nice Dualit as a BIFL option.

Agreed. My current black and decker toaster doesn't completely toast the tops of the bread. I have to toast, flip, and toast again.

Does anyone have any insight as to this one?

I have had this model for about 4.5 years and it's still going pretty strong. It got a bit weaker about 6 months or so ago but it still works well, I just turned up the timer a littler more than it was set to before.
