Ordered open box for 78. That's like the price of an Amazon fire tab.

The open box deal is impressive, just wish it wasn't Chrome OS.

Still, I bought one anyway. Will use it to show people why I don't use Chrome OS, and that's $79 well spent.

Interesting - if it is shipped you do not get charged the recycling fee. (CA) But for store pickup it adds it.

Would be hard to run this without chrome os. 32 gigs of ram and 4 gb. Android and chrome are the only things that I can't think of that'll run with this hardware

Linux (Debian or Arch) will run just fine with this hardware.

Originally over $300, went on sale for $189, and I bought in April when it dropped to $149. It's a steal at this lower price. Big, bright screen, fairly snappy processor. The specs don't say IPS screen, but it's so big I haven't had any issues with viewing angles
.
I have Core I3-8 and I5-10 Windows laptops, and an older Chromebook and Chromebox that I converted to Gallium OS after automatic updates expired, and this laptop doesn't seem terribly slow compared to the Core machines when it comes to simple email and web.tasks. It also gets updates until 2029. Decent deal. Thanks OP
