I noticed that there were AMAZON deals which is similar to this product but has a battery with it. The price is ~$200 for 52qt. I don't use those items so I have no clue about the quality but if the box performance is same, I think those ones are better choice then this since it has a battery on it, which provides a buffer.

ECO mode is not helpful. I already tried it.
Increasing the temperature close to the box temperature helps but this is not really the solution since box temp is high from the beginning. Since I'm driving, I can't monitor the box status and reset the box when the issue happens. I saw that some of the similar items has app that checks the status.
Bottom line is, when my second battery is full, it doesn't have an issue. Also with the AC power, it doesn't have any issue. So I'm confident that this is the DC power related issue.
BTW, I remember that I started have the F1 issue about a month or two after first use. I'm not sure the box is not a good condition or not.

I saw the 52qt deal without battery around $200 and with the battery around $250 to $300.
Temp monitoring made easy...
When I got it and read the instructions that there was a three level battery protection function that you could set: L (low) or M (medium) or H (high protection) and that the factory default setting was already H, I just left it like that and I never had any problem with any F1 errors the whole trip.
We moved from three places in three days and got groceries for the week on the third day for our final destination and I had to carry this thing into hotel rooms and back into the car, going from AC in the room to DC in the car and it seemed to keep a nice consistent temp according to the readout on top. I was worried I would have to keep remembering to turn it on when I started the car back up and turn it off when I stopped, but it seemed to turn itself off when the engine turned off and turned itself back on when the ignition started again (saving me from having to figure out a way to drive and still turn around and mess with the buttons on the thing on the back seat.
Overall it worked out great, and I'm glad I had it just before the trip. It was much better than worrying about a cooler with melting ice taking care of all those perishables.
