AquaWater09901 have you confirmed that this works to get you to 28MPH? Also recognize you have the Big Swell I believe. Have been trying this on the Big Sur, as others have said, perhaps with other models as well they haven't been able to change it.

Perhaps you even have a different LCD Display? I can see on the back of mine it says it is Model AK47.

I have tried searching for hacks on Model AK47 but haven't come up with anything, but see this is in fact the display as quantities can be bought from Alibaba etc, showing this display.

I did notice I can get to some type of undocumented menu on mine with PO levels and settings by holding down the up and down at the same time while the display is on.

Edit:

Ah, I figured out how to remove the limit!!

These PO settings look to be standard.
So get to the PO settings by holding the Up/Down at the same time after the LCD is on.
Click on the power button to go through the PO's.
PO8 is the limit! This is in kmh, this was set to 32, bump this up with the up arrow to 41. That is the max I could change it to. This works out to 25.5 mph.
After this change I can get to 25mph going down a hill.
On a straight road I can cruise at about 22 with full throttle. Pedaling fast like crazy I can get it up 24.

So this is a bit of an increase. Perhaps with a bigger front sprocket I could peddle a bit normally and get to 25.

Perhaps it is a limit of the 350W motor or the battery to get me with throttle to 23 or so, but I don't think the controller itself will let me go above 41kph with motor assist.

Possibly changing wheel size, PO6, would allow assist at faster speed?

FYI, I see some people have commented about their having 5 instead of 3 levels. This can be set in the PO5 setting.

Here are the PO settings for an entirely different controller, but they look pretty close from what I see. https://elecbikeparts.com/pages/s...ser-manual

There could be some other cool settings to see what they are and work with them.

for example: P12 PAS Start Strength
0-5, Higher = more assistance
Amount of assistance given when you start pedaling.

I am thinking this must be low. It seems to give very little help right away. Perhaps a safety feature set at factory? But I want help right away!

Or PO9 might affect how quickly it helps?
P09 Throttle Response
0 for instant throttle, 1 for delayed throttle
Sets whether pressing throttle and motor beginning to spin is instant, or whether there is a delay between the actions.

Edit: P09 was already set at 0 and can't be changed
P12 was set at 3 and can't go higher, but it can go lower.

FYI, read on this site https://power-bicycle.com/ebike-power/ that hub motors are pretty much limited to 25.

"Once the ebike is travelling at 25 MPH, the controller-wheel speed is maxed out. You can't go far over 25 MPH on most hub motors unless the motor & controller pair are designed for higher speeds."

This guy also talks about a smoothing circuit the mfgs implement for greater distance. Something about a loop back wire that can be removed to increase initial assistance but at
a sacrifice in distance.

Is this random china stuff?

Not a lot of reviews. I got a warning going to this site (possibly fraudulent?).

Why don't they sell any ebikes on their non-corporate site?

Is anyone else concerned this is a knockoff? Joyridebikes.com is the original site (since 2001) selling Hurley and joyridebike.com (since 2015) is painted with 'weird' all over it.

Got my big sur. Put it together quick. And it goes fast with just stock. 20 on flat. Battery dropped but I didn't charge much wanted to just try for 10 min. Gonna try with a full charge later. Haven't done the remover limiter yet but will. I like this bike is big and feels safer with two breaks over the costco 500 voyager. But for the life of me !!!! How do you keep handle bars from slipping ????????????
You need to tighten it down a lot.

Thanks for the info! I'll try to find an adapter that fits and let you know if I find anything
I did end up buying a Big Sur for my daughter so will likely be wanting to figure out how to attach their Schwinn trailer.

What brand trailer do you have? Here is a guide I found, and it sounds like perhaps the Schwinn will work without an adapter but it will be a while before they can try it out.

Did you end up getting a replacement from them?

Same bike, just different branding.
After two calls no resolution yet. They are polite though. Last call they told me for the second time that they needed to review the video I sent. Kind of sucks to purchase a brand new diablo and can't ride it.

Just a follow-up. Customer service sent me a different kickstand since the rubber part fell off. Note to tighten screw on the rubber part.
It is a slightly smaller kickstand than the original, so I need to replace entire kickstand instead of just the rubber part on the installed one.

Not sure if you are trolling or not. There are probably hundreds of 600$ ebikes on Amazon which ones are you referring to? There are like 15 different models on sale for this deal all with different specs. That being said, you would be hard pressed to find a better deal than this one.

Has anyone got the cruise control feature to work? I received a Big Sur model last week and the quick start guide card states if you hold the down arrow button for 3 seconds while the bike is moving over 5mph it enables Constant Cruise Mode.

I've tried it multiple times, I hear the motor rev up a bit, but that is it. My assumption is Constant Cruise Mode enables the bike to move forward at the current speed without pedal assist, I may be wrong.

Anyone know the difference between the Diablo and the Tailside? They seem to be the same bike just with different stickers but a whole difference on the price.
Same bike different branding. Get the Diablo unless the hurley branding is worth the difference to you

It seems to me you need to get to the speed by using the throttle then it works to set cruise, vs getting to the speed via assist.

I've put about 80 miles on it so far and it's been pretty fun riding on the road and dirt. I've had to adjust the rear derailleur because it couldn't get to the lowest (1) or highest (7) gears out of the box. I still can't get it into the lowest gear but I figured I don't really need it. The front disc breaks are squeaky so I still need to figure that out but overall I like it as my first ebike.

Even after 20 miles of assist level 3, it's still showing 2-3 bars for the battery. I don't know if that's correct or not but it seems to be more efficient than stated.
how tall are you? do you think it's ok for a 5' 6.5" person to ride the size medium diablo?

Any idea when this coupon will expire? Out of town for another 3 weeks and don't want a huge crate sitting in front of the house for a whole week
