Yup, if you can spend $70, probably worth it to buy the Supernova.

But still a good sign when you can buy an 80-gold/10-year warranty PSU for $60.

Prices definitely trending down on psus.

that's kinda a blanketstatement, they're not trending down on all psus. the reason this one is priced accordingly is due to evga cutting ties with andyson, seasonic, and HEC. that's why the supernova GT and GA, and the G6 are all priced so well. However, keep in mind 80+ gold rating speaks nothing for quality, just for efficiency of turning AC to DC. This unit is fine but nowhere near great, since it has transient issues and all that. spending the $5 more for a GT650 would easily be a better buy to be honest.

90% of the "advice" given around here usually trends in a blanketstatement sort of direction, lol.

Look, I know how much my Corsair 650W 80 Gold psu cost 18 months ago. The similar model today goes for about $20 less. And as a general trend, I can find better deals of psu's with 7/10 year warranties than I could this time a year ago.

To be sure, these EVGA sales are on a different level all together. And I agree with you now that I've looked more closely at these two EVGA power supplies. Thanks for pointing those things out.
