They are both great dual fuel generators. I own the Pulsar PG2200BIS and the Champion (the 100899 version that has two USB ports instead of this version with the cigarette style power port). The Champion has a quick disconnect propane connection (very handy) while the Pulsar requires a wrench to tighten the propane connection. The Champion is 10 pounds lighter. The finger screws on the Champion for the access cover is a small, but nice feature (instead of needing a screwdriver).
The Pulsar is extremely easy to pull start.... maybe 1/2 the force needed to turn the engine over on the champion although the Champion is not hard to pull start. Both start on propone on 4-5 pulls although both required some experimentation with choke and starting procedure. I also like the manual choke on the Pulsar compared to the EZ start setup on the Champion. Both have about the same THD which is a hair over 1% with a 1500W load.

So much wrong with this comment.

First, the Honda model cited can only run on gasoline, but for some odd reason it was compared to the LP running wattage of the Champion. (And the Honda doesn't produce 2200 running watts either.)

Second, the commenter states that "surge" capacity isn't helpful to anyone, but had just stated the surge capacity (starting wattage) of the Honda, not its running wattage. Ironic.

A better comparison between these two models would have been:

Running Wattage (gasoline): Honda (1800) vs Champion (1850)

Starting Wattage (gasoline): Honda (2200) vs Champion (2500)

Weight (lbs): Honda (47) vs Champion (39)

Dimensions (LxWxH inches): Honda (20x11.4x16.7) vs Champion (17.3 x 12 x 17.7).

Noise (dBA): Honda (57) vs Champion (53)

Fuel Capacity (gasoline): Honda (0.95 gallons) vs Champion (1.1 gallons)

Runtime (gasoline): Honda (6 hours @ 50% load) vs Champion (11.5 hours @ 25% load)

Warranty: Honda (3 years) vs Champion (3 years)

Price: Honda ($1200) vs Champion ($454)

They are both similar in running wattage, with the Champion having more starting watts (e.g., important for things like table saws, which draw a surge of power when first powered on).

The Champion is lighter than the Honda, making it a little easier to carry.

They're both similar in physical size, with the Honda being a little narrower and longer. Both should be easy to stowaway when not used.

Noise is difficult to compare, because different manufacturers measure noise at different loads and distances. But I imagine these two models would be similar under the same conditions.

Again, different manufacturers measure runtimes differently. I imagine these two models would have similar runtimes under the same loads.

Both have the same warranty period.

However, the main difference is price. Honda is one of the most reputable and well-known names in generators. However, Champion is a good brand too. Is Honda worth almost three times the price? That's up to each person to decide.

But for the price of the Honda, one could purchase two of the Champions + the parallel kit to double the power when needed (this is what I did). Plus, with the Champion, one has the option to run propane (not possible on the Honda without the $$ conversion kit).

Good point but that particular model is twice the price and only puts out 1000 watts. Quiet is nice, but having the fridge running and some lights during a power outage at the expense of quiet is quite nice as well.

1850 running watts is not a good deal at all for this price. I guess if you need dual fuel it sorta is, but the running watts is way more important.
The is a great price for a dual fuel generator. Not the lowest though.

For the running watts, it is normal for these portable generator from 1700 to 2000ish

This is a super great deal. Dual fuel runs on gas or propane. About $125 less than the previous sale price.

Keep in mind this is an inverter type and duel fuel, which drives the price up. But still not a bad price at all.

I own a Honda 2000 and a champion big inverter 8750. I wouldn't hesitate to run this small champion inverter. My 8750 inverter runs my house no problem. Hondas are the old reliable but yes twice the price.

one of the review/demo show this unit is super loud. Search keyword "loud" and see it yourself :-)
I went camping last weekend and a friend brought a honda EU1000i, it was super quiet.

Just a note, 1850watts is on gasoline... on propane you only get 1665 watts. This might not work for everyone.
