Unlike OIS, which is the current standard for OMT blade attachments accepted by virtually all manufacturers except Bosch. OIS blades can be found cheap and expensive from all major vendors as well as third party blade companies.
The advantage of Starlock are basically (1) easy blade change - you flip a lever and the blade ejects. It is the best blade change system, other manufacturers offers "tool free change" that may include a lever you wind up and down to tighten or loosen. (2) more power - the Starlock interface is what they called "3D". It is not a flat blade, it has a hump that mates to the OMT and that is what allows the tool to transfer a higher power to the blade, which translates to cleaner and faster cutting.
I personally have both Bosch Starlock corded, 12V and 2 other OMTs from Rockwell and Dremel. I use all of them. Yes Bosch cutting is faster, but I have over 100 OIS blades and I can't just let them collect dust. So when it comes to deciding which one to use on a particular day, it depends on the task at hand. If I need aggressive and fast cutting, then I pick up the Bosch, if I am doing something delicate and power is not a factor, then I pick up my Roclwell OMT. The 12V Bosch OMT is useless, it says it is a Starlock but it needs an allen wrench to mount the blades, what a joke.
Someone asked about an adapter to use OIS blades on Bosch OMTs. Yes they do exist. Look on ebay. There is a supplier from Russia and one from Scandinavia. I think they run $28-$45 plus shipping. I wanted to use the Bosch OMT with OIS blades so I gave the adapter a try. Does it mount? Yes. Does it work? No. The reason is the interface between the OMT and the adapter is "3D", then the interface between the adapter and an OIS blade is flat, so when you use the adapter to do cutting, and if you have to dial the speed to anything higher than 3, the blade will come loose after a minute or so because it cannot handle the additional power from the OMT and the interface between the adapter and the blade wears. So if you are using an OIS adapter to do some light sanding at speed 2, probably will work for a while. If you are going to use a wood blade to cut at speed 5, don't even bother.

Just realized the multitool was brushless! Slick! Would have been happy either way at this price.

The sander is amazing! Especially if you buy the extra soft pad for it. It's the only sander I've ever liked under $200. The 4ah battery will give you over an hour on high speed. I give this an 11/10 lol.
The vac is really great as well, but it will eat through batteries fast! You'll get 3-4 mins per ah. And it'll make your battery get really hot. (Which is best in the scenario as you don't want heat to be trapped in the battery. )
It helps if you keep the battery door open. But like all cordless vacs, it's just not very efficient. I run the 8ah in mine and even then it can be hard to keep up with the extra fast charger that has the cooling fans (its not the one the batt comes with on these kits sadly.)
If Bosch would give the vac Bluetooth and an auto on/off feature it'd be a 9/10 but I'd say a 7/10 ... which is high ranking for cordless shop vacs.

I do not want to be locked into anything proprietary.

I'm not an expert but generally I tend to avoid battery powered tools unless I have a specific need for them. For tools I use only occasionally I would always go with wired because they are generally more powerful (per $ spent) and I don't have to worry about the batteries deteriorating while sitting for years in a sometimes very hot garage. I also don't have to worry about buying different brands and not having the batteries be interchangeable. Lastly, while not having to deal with a power cable is a definite convenience, a battery adds extra bulk and weight to a tool. Take this oscillating tool for instance, the battery could impact the positions in which you can use the tool. With all that said...
The sander looks like a great deal. Brushless and with a 4.0 Ah battery. In for 1.

I find that I vacuum my cars more because its so easy and fast. I can do a full size car and a 3 row SUV if I move fast on one battery. Also - any home project this is such an easy grab and go.
My Dad will love it for their boat and cars. I cannot recommend this enough.
Only odd thing is - no brush attachment included. Get this to complete the set...
