Digital = More chances for things to fail, when it comes to switches mechanic switches are still the safest and more reliable option.
While I agree, if it breaks in the next 10 years they will fix it. So that means I'll spend 10 years or more enjoying the advantages of the digital functions vs manual.

I have the A2500, I have never had an issue with detection. It works every time.
Makes two of us. Been using our A2500 almost daily for 3 months, never an issue.

Is the 5200 a better blender? I got that on prime day for 299 and was wondering if this one was better.

Is this a great deal as top end Vitamix deals go? I looked up on CCC this, 7500, 750, A3500, A2500, 5200 and none have been down to $350 before. But Prime Day and Black Friday don't always show up lowest on CCC history.

Looking back in SD threads, looks like this was $320 on a lightning deal a year ago. The A3500 got down to $420 and the 5200 got down to $290 a year ago. The A3500 was $400 with a coupon from Vitamix 3 yrs ago (yes no time machine). So depending on model you want this is a pretty great price, but has been lower. All things consider with inflation rising over next few years it's doubtful we see lower. Although retailers have a glut of products and it's been all over news and earnings reports that big discounts will be coming in later half of this year to offload inventory. I may way to see what pops up for BF. But chance to save extra $30 if it ever drops to $320 again or even $300, meh might be a bigger risk than it's worth.

I have the NutriBullet ZNBF30500Z currently and it scored a 75 overall on Consumer Reports. The ones I mentioned in order of score got an 88, 88, 82, 81, and 84. So this one would probably get around 81/82.

Rtings.com scored this very high. Ascent series ARE dishwasher safe.: https://www.rtings.com/blender/re...amix/a3300

Rtings.com said the 7500 is NOT dishwasher safe if that is important to you. It also registered 94 dB vs the A3300 at 91.4 dB. Negligible, but in prior SD threads people would often comment about models having a variance is loudness so having the dBs is helpful. https://www.rtings.com/blender/re...tamix/7500

Looks like these models (7500, A3300 & A3500) all have the same RPMs (22,700) at Max Speed, except the A3500 was a tiny higher at 22,800. The wattage on these measures 1,640 W, so more powerful than 5200.

The 5200 Rtings.com metrics are 22,500 RPMs at Max Speed, 96.2 dB and is NOT dishwasher safe like the 7500. The wattage also registers at 1,491 W. https://www.rtings.com/blender/re...tamix/5200

Has there ever been lower?

I bought this through Vitamix in 2019 for $450; it included an aer container priced at $145.00.

So, if I subtract the aer container, it comes out to $305.

However, if I had a choice I'd rather pay the $350 and have no Aer container. I've only used the container couple times. We use the A3300 almost every day and it's still going like new.

For the $350, I recommend this blender.

this or 7500 which was $300 a week ago?
It would depend on two things. First if you prefer manual controls to the more contemporary digital ones and the presets ( even though the presets on this model needs to be activated by app no touch buttons like the 3500). Also if you want to be able to use any of the bigger attachments like the food processor, aer container, dry grains container and anything like that that comes out in the future you are going to need one of their units that have the self detect feature in them.

Costco does have an exclusive model that looks like the 7500 and has the smart detect if like the look of the 7500 over the ascent. It's called the venturist 1200

Oh that's a great point about self detect. So this A3300 would leverage those attachments. Is the self detect only used for those attachments or is there another reason?

They are all pretty much the same machine with different controls, it's the tall container that stands above the crowd.

Yup it would. As for your second question only self detect containers will work with these blenders. You cannot use the non detect containers on these blenders. The self detect feature for me is not a hinderance at all. You simply drop your container on the top and it will detect. It's also nice because if you knock the container off or something the blender will automatically turn off. It also changes how the blender behaves with some of the attachments like the food processor. It will know the food processor is on and only allow one speed setting for instance.

Having had multiple Vitamx 3xx's go bad, was grateful had the Costco return ability. Emailing with Vitamix directly was a hassle and runaround of copy/pasted canned responses.

Any reason to buy this if I already have ninja kitchen system
We went through two ninja systems. The first was a gift and lasted about 10 months. We bought a similar one and it lasted about the same. We went to do a warranty claim and they make you pay for shipping both ways to get a refurbished model (that will break again). We then went to a KitchenAid K400 blender. It was nice but so loud. It lasted 18 months and they don't sell replacement parts (coupler) and only a 90 day warranty. We are giving the Vitamix a try since it seems to have better support and available part for diy out of warranty repairs. We got the Costco model since it comes with additional mixers and jars and if it breaks I will just return it.
