Got the S22 for $300 prior to this deal to use the Amex promo. Google customer service has me longing for Comcast. It is really that bad. Both phones were supposed to arrive together (they did not). I was supposed to get a trade-in envelope for my Pixel 3 (I did not get one and was told that it was my fault and I'm SOL) Switching back to Tmobile ASAP.

Seems like the best way to use this is to quickly get a second phoneline for yourself, then transfer it to this, so that you're not stuck using a low data plan. If you accidentally update all your Google Play apps you might be down a good $10-20 right off the bat lmao

Be careful as Fi wants the number you ported to be on this phone to get the $600 discount. They check nightly and they find out the number is on other phone then they will charge the $600 on your CC after 4 months. I got the Pixel 6 when it was for 399 and used the Fi SIM on my Essential PH1 and got a notification that Promo guidelines not met and they would charge the discounted amount to my CC.
I mean you just activate the fi sim when you get it, make one call and remove it till end of promo. You do not have to have activity on the line. I ported a Google voice number to fi, activated it/used it a single time. Then I removed it out of my S21 and never used it again. I used my actual sim in the S21 during the entire promo timeline.

Here is interesting data point, I had 3 lines, on 2 promos were fulfilled about 2 months ago with the 120 day mark. As soon as I ported out one number I got an email from google fi for the same deal to UPGRADE my existing ELIGIBLE line. So I did no port 2nd number as i planned and kept on existing line with this offer.

Wait so how is this a deal? Hasn't it been this price for months? What am I missing here?
You're missing nothing. It's been this price for months. You'll also regularly see front page deals for $10 off a $310 item. That said, this is actually a good deal and one of the best IMO.

If you're a power user, note the smallish battery capacity. Will not last a day with any more than light to moderate usage.

Bought during the first go-round, a couple months back. Wish I had known they would drop the "Plus" model to $400. Would have been much happier.

Can you activate this deal on the e Sim and then put your old SIM card into the sim slot and still qualify for the deal?
