- You must be a new Fi customer. A new Fi customer is someone who has never had Fi service or someone whose last day of Fi service took place more than 180 days before making a purchase with this promotion.
- To qualify for the full $500 discount, you need to:
- Activate the phone on a new full service plan (data-only SIMs do not qualify) within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email and keep the qualifying phone active on Google Fi for 120 consecutive days.
- You must activate on the same Fi account used to purchase the phone or be a new member of the purchaser's group plan.
You must also bring/transfer your number to Fi within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email. Fi-to-Fi number transfers are not eligible. - The discounted price will automatically apply during checkout. If you do not meet the conditions above, $500 will be charged to your Google Pay account.

Leave the GFi sim in and use your regular service via the eSim as the primary since it comes unlocked. The Google Fi app shows the countdown timer to 120 days and them you port your number back to Google voice.
No need to make it unnecessarily complicated.
More realistic is somewhere between $23- $26 which end up to $92 - $104

But the good thing about GFi unlike other MVNOs is that you pretty much get the entire phone usage benefits of TMo including international roaming, etc. So you won't miss much from moving from TMo, especially switching as a new customer. However, if you depend on Tmo EIP to keep upgrading your phones in the future, GFi won't work as well.

But if you get in on this deal, you must activate the phone and then keep it active for 120 days. If you do not, for any reason, you will be charged the $500 and will have to fight it. Even if you RETURN the phone within the RETURN PERIOD, they have charged multiple people $500 after the phone was returned, and then you are in a battle to get the money back. So I'm waiting for my 120 days to be up, and saying goodbye to these morons forever. I expected something branded by Google to be ok. It's a nightmare. Please. Don't.

That said, this is probably very dependent on your area. In the Midwest, Google's use of the US Cellular network as a fallback provides outstanding rural coverage. On the highway to visit family in Nebraska, there's a long section where Visible drops out. Google Fi never dropped below 2-3 bars and always had at least LTE data, and often 5G. At our state park campground in Arkansas, I expected no signal, but I had 5G all the time, even out on the water on Beaver Lake.

You don't need to hook the phone to that number, you just cannot use that SIM/number on a different phone. Activate it, take out the SIM, store it in a drawer and use whatever SIM you want on this phone. Or use the dual SIM feature to put your other SIM in.
After 4 months cancel the GFi service.
People using this to flip phones on eBay may encounter issues.
