This seems like a good deal for a 2 in 1 device in general? Even compared to other 2 in 1 (not even considering the egpu capabilities)

Can you charge this with 3rd party 100w GaN usb c charger?

Just one question, It is already coming with a Type-C 100W charger in the box which you can use in other devices supporting PD. So, why you want to use another 3rd party charger?

Non-asus TB3 docks or eGPU stations with power delivery (USB4 contains Thunderbolt 3 internally, albeit it seems that drivers are not ready yet for this laptop).
DRMing a power supply is a dick move.

That's not the reason. This laptop itself comes with a Type-C charger only which you can use in other Type-C devices. Read the post above this for the correct answer.

Snagged one today at Best Buy as open box satisfactory due to missing original box. Website showed price as $1159 but rang up as $1028. Excellent deal in my opinion and unit was in excellent condition.

How is the cooling performance and do the fans kick in like it's dying during usage like Ms word?

I was considering this until realizing that 3 hours of battery life using non-gaming applications is horrendous.

I bought the original X13 Flow last year, and I just got done with a marathon repair back and forth which ultimately led to Best Buy refunding me for the purchase. Asus bloatware sucks, even running a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro in able to tune the CPU you need third party tools and is a bit of a hassle if you're into fooling around with the CPU/GPU. The battery life is awful, if you do use off a charger adjust the frame rate to 60HZ, this helps a bit in terms of battery life.
The motherboard on the machine that died was replaced TWICE, and the day I took it home, within the first five minutes of transferring new documents and updated personal stuff to my machine, it just turned off and never started again. Best Buy harvested the machine and let me keep the hard drive to get my data back.
The hardware specs are great, the screen was great, quality control is seriously questionable. Even worse Asus customer service wouldn't even speak to me because I bought it through Best Buy and would only refer me to the Geek Squad.
Back to thinkpads, not a hiccup so far.

It shouldn't kick up using an office or word processing application. At least it didn't when I owned the first iteration.
I used this to help with thermals when under load because I hate Armory crate. https://github.com/cronosun/atrofac

Why can't Asus ever design something that isn't hideous?

I must say this is an understated laptop that could be used in an office setting. The only thing that is "hideous" is the startup splash screen that comes with a swoosh sound (which you can turn off in bios)
