Thought this was a C1. A1 is only 60hz OLED. better go with a C1 for a 120hz refresh rate (supports VRR too)

My brother doesn't game and I was gonna get him this, but darn it they put a crap stand on it. This won't fit on his TV stand but the C1 will. He's too stubborn to replace his stand. Anyone know how this thing sounds compared to C1 in case I get a cheap VESA stand?

Can't say how it sounds compared to the C1. The forked feet are indeed cheap, but it would allow space for placing stuff on the TV stand. If you need to spend $150 for a new TV stand, that is pretty much the price difference of this A1 to the C1 ($800 on a sale).

so these are the discounts they were talking about?

they said walmart target bestbuy had excess inventory they couldn't get rid of, and these TV mfgrs are giving fat discounts.

I was expecting $400 oled tv.

Like every other inbuilt speakers in a TV, crap. Even a cheap sound bar will be a huge upgrade. Since customers want thinner and thinner besels, there's less room for speakers, so any TV speakers will sound terrible no matter how much you spend. Gone are the days when you could get half decent sounds from a TV.

For anyone else reading this: these features only matter if you're a gamer (and semi-hardcore at that). You can definitely play PS5, XBOX, Switch, and PC games on here and be 100% satisfied.

If gaming is not the primary reason you turn on your TV, then this is the best picture quality you can get for the price. Go for it.

Honestly, my CX sounds pretty voluminous. Didn't fiddle with a sound bar to get that complete floating on a wall look.

The LG C1's sound is above average for a TV and good enough for my brother. He's got hearing issues anyway and sound bars bother him. He prefers the indirect sound that comes out of most TVs. I'm just curious how the A1 compares to the C1 since the C1 uses the curved stand to reflect sound toward the viewer and the A1 does not.

Pass on the A1. It's either a C1 this year or hold onto my cash and try to get a deal on a C2 next year.

Vesa stands are $20-30 an Amazon. Well worth it. I bought them for all of my TV's even though I don't need them, just because the swivel is so nice for moving cables around and whatever behind the TV.
