For those wondering, Lego.com gives you 6.5 points per $1 when you buy from them directly.
As many others point out, this is not a great deal 1 point per dollar at Target versus 6.5 points per dollar at Lego direct.

Target - 1 dollar = 0.769% money back via VIP points
LEGO - 1 dollar = 5% money back via VIP points

IF you use red card at target, and turn in your receipt, then shopping at target can be worth it. You would technically get 5.769% savings. 5% off from red card, and then 0.769% in VIP rewards value. Obviously double VIP at LEGO is better, and if you buy from LEGO online and leverage cash back sites, bonus.

In the end, if you are buying at target anyways, might as well get something....
Exactly, this isn't the reason to choose target, their LEGO sales are. But it's a definitely a bonus when you do buy here.

I never buy any LEGOs directly from LEGO store. Always more expensive than what I can get them for when there's a deal at Walmart, Target, Amazon or Zavvi.

So as the SD community says this is not much of a deal, but it makes Front Page to appease the corporate giants. Is it me or have the deals dried up lately on here.

So what if I buy the sets, redeem the points, then return the sets?

Targets Lego selection in store has been slim lately. We questioned if they were paying their vendors the shelves are so bare…

I tried and got a reply that it was not acceptable because the date wasn't on there.

I submitted 2. One for 60320 (Lego City Fire Station) and one for 60316 (Lego City Police Station).

I then submitted my order receipt emails that have the date purchased and price.

I received a response that the items were not eligible.

I don't get it.

I had same problem trying to deal with them with Walmart receipts, I just let it go after few back n forth, not worth it

I rarely do but they have decent deals sometimes (i.e. 30% off+ a bonus item). You can also stack with cash back sites which usually exclude Lego at places like Target.
