Looks like a decent deal for the specs, however all the reviews I've read seem to agree that this is a rather lackluster attempt at a flagship phone. For me specifically, the camera reviews will keep me away from this phone. Pictures are adequate at best. Just thought I'd share my findings if anyone is interested.

That's a completely different phone. This is a flagship phone with the SD 8 Gen 1, 8gb ram and 512gb storage. Plenty of great reviews on this phone for $900. At $500 this is just a great deal.

Would anyone recommend this phone? The only complaints that I can find are that it has a plastic shell, and a depth sensor. Android updates are slow, but that's not an issue for me

I had a Moto G7 (International version) being used in the US and it got a bunch of updates. Not necessarily timely but better than Oneplus at times.

For $500 with 512gb storage and SD 8 Gen 1, I think this is a very good deal.

The only thing that would have probably made it better was a QHD display. People say there is not a lot of difference, but I can actually see it after switching back and forth.

I just bought this phone for my mom, but 6/128gb version for 200$ on amazon. works good so far. it has sd card slot and 3.5mm jack. no wireless charging. 5g and band 71 for tmobile. pretty fast, for 200$ its realy worth it. but for 500 i probably would buy something else.. s22 or 1+ 9

You must be talking of a different phone. No way has an Edge Plus (2022) ever been offered for that price, anywhere.

Edit: Definitely talking of a different phone, the Edge+ 2022 has no SD card slot, no headphone jack, and it does have wireless charging.

A lot has changed with this phone since it first came out. As for the camera, check out this review [youtube.com].

Keep in mind that most reviews are judging this as a $1000.00 phone and comparing it to flagships. It's a pretty solid phone for $500.00.

The camera is great for this phone. Just because it isn't on par with the latest greatest Samsung or iPhone flagship camera, it doesn't mean it has a bad camera. For the Motorola Edge+ (2020), it scored a 117 DXO mark. That is the two year old 2020 model. The Samsung Galaxy S21 5G scored 119. With the 2022 being newer and improved, it is going to be bumped up higher and probably around the 125 DXO mark after adding gcam. I add gcam on all my motorola and use both gcam and stock camera. For $500 sale and camera DXO mark that will probably be that high, it is impressive. Motorola has definitely improved a lot with its cameras over the past few years. I was quite impressed with how much the moto g stylus 2020 camera did in my comparison test against my pixel 3a and iphone se 2020. It didn't beat those cameras but it wasn't that far off. Maybe gcam can improve it more for edge+ (2022) but the camera is going to be scoring so high with its dxomark that it isn't needed.

The human eye can only see so much and the cameras can't constantly get way much better year after year. It is like display quality.

* My rule of thumb is judge/grade on what you pay. If you get a great deal, you should be little bit forgiving with some minor cons. There is no such thing as a perfect phone with no cons. If you shelling out huge bucks at full retail, your expectations should be higher and judge/grade harsher.

Man I love motorola! They can have some pretty excellent deals on good phones. I've already got a nice Motorola phone so I don't need this one.

Too bad it's not dual SIM or eSIM compatible, I'd get it.
