Looks like Amazon is price matching the physical copies of these. I've been on the fence with this game based on all the bad review, not really sure if the discount still makes it worth it.
Is it still online only play? If so, I wouldn't want it even if it were free.
Yes and no. Basically yes, online only. However there is an offline option that lets you pick between 3 tracks and like 7 cars...barely worthy of being called an option.

I'm highly disappointed in GT7, I kept reading how nostalgic it was but as a huge fan of GT2 Sim. GT7 is way too grindy. Still waiting for the Sell Car update (maybe it's out but haven't heard yet)
The only people who seemed to like this game are critics. Go look at the critic and user scores on Metacritic. I would hold off on this unless you are a die hard fan of the series.

Wasn't GT sport online only at launch, then they eventually caved and did a whole single player campaign

Waited too many years for this and it was a disappointment. I bought it at $90 on launch, diehard GT fan so no ragrets but if you don't own it by now, I would just wait on it until it gets better in hopefully less than 2 years
Lame that the PS5 version is $10 more but you don't get a free PS5 upgrade if you buy the PS4 version. Hate changing disc between GT7 and Elden Ring and was looking to go digital with GT7 since I'm on it every night.

I bought GT sport on release day but didn't play it until two years later. If I recalled it started off with no single player content and then PD added single player content throughout the years. It took me about 90 hours to finish all the single player content (Arcade mode, GT league, Circuit Experience, Driving School, Mission challenges) and reach level 50. Most of the single player content races have high replayability and are even more satisfying and less frustrating than gt7. Be warn the AI in single player is dumb. The only reason why I bought GT7 because of GT sport online (daily races/time trials) where you compete against other online players in your skill levels.
I bought this in good faith after the bad reviews. Unfortunately they were right. Games a slog. Played it for 3-4 days got super bored of the grind and stopped playing. Thought it'd be like GT on the PS2 but it's just not. For comparison the last racing game I bought was Horizons 2 or 3 and I played the hell out of it. If it hits $20 it might be an OK deal but even then why support the anti-consumer anti-player business practices. If you saw how much ingame credits cost you'd be blown away. Its just not worth it at all.

Dunno. Never played that atrocity.
As of 2 days ago, no ability to sell cars.
