Christ. It's a good price--just because you don't need it doesn't mean that somebody else doesn't appreciate the notification that it's a lower price than usual.

Just move on. Your faulty logic can be applied to literally any situation where something is cheaper than usual.

Plenty of people, like myself, already have desk drawers, a frame, or removable legs and are just looking for a replacement top.

People, if you don't have anything useful to say, you can choose to say nothing. I'm in a similar boat that I'm looking for a desk top, only thing is I'm looking for a hardwood one. But thanks OP, glad to know someone is looking out for something like this.

I would not recommend this for heavy duty use. The innards is literally cardboard so I'd avoid clamping any monitor mounts or leaving anything heavy in the middle.

At the height of the pandemic when everyone was scrambling to set up their home offices, Ikea gerton table tops were all the rage. But they're discontinued I think...

I was in the market for a tabletop just a few weeks ago, after buying a frame from this Ainfox $130 deal. Paid more due to urgency.

A week before that, there was this frame deal from Monoprice too.

IIRC, both were frontpage and a lot of us bought one, so this tabletop deal is relevant, timely and well appreciated. Thank you, OP.

Honestly, I would recommend getting a butcher block top over this. Much stronger and looks better if you stain it properly. Sometimes home depot has it on sale. You can also find in ikea.

Looks like everything at Ikea is veneer over cardboard or particleboard now.

Depending on your market, recommend looking on Craigslist. Locally I was able to find a lot of super cheap tops with minor damage. I think a lot of the companies like uplift and fully just send a new desk out if there's shipping damage so there's dinged ones on deep discount available.
