I've had a Fold 3 for a year now:


PROS:
- Gaming
- YouTube / Netflix / other 16:9 content (inside screen shows YouTube content much larger than ANY phone)
- Manga Reading
- Possible Kindle replacement (crease is noticeable)


Meh:
-Battery life isn't as bad as they say but still not great. I get about 6 hours SOT. Most days I end the day with 40-50% as an "average" user
- Front screen is useful, but narrow screen isn't the best to type. It's great for one-handed use


CONS:
- IT'S HEAVY. Way heavier than even a S22 Ultra (by about 23%)
- Thick boi. But also narrower than a S22 Ultra. Still pocketable
- Phone is slippery AF. Need a case. If you want something that doesn't add bulk I'd highly recommend Spigen Air Skin. Has a rubberized coating.

I like the concept but just dont want to spend more to get the case and spen... i usually upgrade every two years but been sticking with my 3 year old note 10+. All the newer phones arent worth it and seems a downgrade. I just dont know if the fold will do it for me. Decisions...

Got this phone w/512GB last year for $800 & they threw in the Buds2 for free w/o trade in. Still loving my Fold 3 with no battery or cracked screen problems. Price needs to come down a littke more w/o trade in b4 I'd bite.

Is there any way to combine this with the enhanced trade-in credit? I don't see any carrier models in-stock near me. Can I order for pickup and then do the trade-in at the store when I arrive?

If you're not sure between this and waiting for the 4, I think the safest route is ordering for store pickup (which doesn't seem to be available till next week in many cases) and wait till the 10th to hopefully see what trade in values and perks they have for preorder.

Either 1) keep the Fold 3 you got for $800 2) trade it in for a possibly higher value plus preorder perks, or 3) cancel the store pickup if trade in isn't very good towards the Fold 4 and get the Fold 4 how you would have without this deal.

I agree with you. I was rocking the S10+ really wanted the fold when it came out, but company wouldn't pay for it. And I had to upgrade, so ended up getting the S22 Ultra. It's a great phone, but in my opinion, isn't leaps and bounds ahead of the S10+.

The fold is interesting and I'll probably wait until Fold 5 or 6 is released to make the jump.

In theory you could get this phone for free on at&t (just pay taxes). With their $800 credit trade in promo. Buy it from Best Buy then once activated walk over to an at&t within 30 days and trade in your phone for a $800 bill credit.

I'm tempted since this will easily trade in for a decent amount towards the new fold coming later this month.

Isn't 25w super fast charging on the fold 3 still extremely fast? I have an s22u and with a 25w charger it's lightning quick. The 45w charger offers a very very minimal upgrade in charging speed. It's been proved many times in YouTube videos.

Or does the fold 3 just not feature the super super fast charging even with a 25w?

That's what I want to know as well.

I remember getting these best buy deals on the pixels in the past where you sign up for a plan and then cancel it the same day and get a prorated refund for the rest of the month and don't have to pay anything after that and your device is unlocked.

Anyway to do that with this?

Be aware of the narrow front screen, also the thickness and weight. It's like having two phones sandwiched together. Imagine carrying that all the time in your pocket... it gets annoying a lot. You can forget trying to exercise with it on you...

The camera isn't great and the battery also is very meh.

The unfolded screen is awesome though! For me its enough but I would tell most people to avoid this phone unless you really enjoy tech.
