Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank mobygrape

So let's see... a few months back it was $30 for 3 months with 10 gb of data when BB ran these sales. Then a few weeks back they put a higher price in motion with unlimited data for $45 if you could get a price match with the sale the Mint website was running -- some could get the PM, some couldn't. To be fair, I'm saying a higher price on that one if all you really needed was 10 gb like the earlier deals they were running, which worked just fine for many people here on SD. Now they're effectively raising it again by lowering data to a measly 4gb for $45 (or $35 with the gift card depending on how you look at it).

I appreciate the OP making a post for this (thank you....), but these price increases way outpace the rate of inflation. It's just a BB money grab as far as I can see. Mint was a sweet deal while they ran that long string of $30/10 gb deals. This isn't even close. IMO, if you bite on this you're just encouraging BB to keep raising prices for Mint service.

Do you think BB sets the prices for service and not Mint?

BB sets their sale prices. As I pointed out above, they were previously running a sale every few months for 10gb 3 month cards for $30, which was half the price Mint lists them for. So, that wasn't BB setting the price for Mint's service, they were setting the price for a sale. They may do that in cooperation with Mint for all I know, but that's neither here nor there. In the end it's a significantly higher price than previous BB deals and that's what counts on a deal site.

Do you think Mint decides the value of a gift card BB is allowed to give out?

if someone (like me) missed those deals (I was not paying attention - my fault) and needs to get something, this is the best deal going right now... Tello is $14/mo @ 2GB... so I did this, bought each SIM separately (I needed 3) and got $30 in BB cards... which I dont really want or need but I'll find something to use it on or sell the cards

Actually, depending on your personal preferences, location, etc., it may have worked better for you trying this Boost Mobile deal that's on SD, 3 months, 5gb, $15 (https://slickdeals.net/f/15851989-boost-mobile-get-5gb-5g-4g-lte-data-for-5-for-first-3-months-15-to... I've seen a few other deals here as well.

That said though, I don't fault anyone here, we all need a phone and if this is your only practical choice, so be it. I just hate supporting companies that use 'inflation' as an excuse to multiply their pricing well beyond what's going on with the economy. When we do that, it just encourages them to keep price gouging despite many people already having a tough time of it.

EDIT: As "MMPG" pointed out below, something seems to be rendering incorrectly on the SD link I posted, where the Wiki section is in jumbo sized print. Just scroll past it, sorry about that....

This deal is mediocre at best. I would also recommend the Boost Mobile deal for flexibility. To keep a good renewal price at Mint you have to commit to a year, at Boost only 3 months.

Has anyone clicked on that link in this post? I'm not sure if it was my phone or not...all the comments in there were blown up at the front size of jumbo on my phone screen...like each word is literally half an inch on my phone screen...

Sorry, it wasn't like that when I copied and pasted the link but it is now. Seems to be something with the "wiki" section of the page. I also just tried it by doing a search and going directly to that post from the SD search results, same thing. Must be something going on with the site I guess.

How is this better than the Mint deal for 6 months, at 10GB/month, for $75 (with $10 BB gift card)?

Was thinking about getting a few of these and porting our 4 numbers, but then saw this on Mint's website

Is the 5G • 4G LTE data per month or across all the months in my plan?

Per month, baby! So stream away—it comes back. For example, if you buy a 12 month, 15GB plan, you will get 15GB of high-speed 5G • 4G LTE data to use each month for 12 months. Any unused data does not roll over, though. It resets at the end of your data cycle.

What the heck happened to this thread? I can't find it in a search, and all the feedback has been reset.

New customers only, renewals are through their website. Gotta get that recovery fee.
