This is the 7th generation Lenovo 9i with the 2.8k OLED screen on sale at BestBuy for $1200. Personally, I think the deal posted a week ago for the 4k OLED screen from Lenovo itself is better with all the stacking coupons and cash back, but this is more straightforward. Also, there are some open-box options for cheaper starting at $1028.99. Many reviews also prefer the 2.8k OLED screen over the 4k OLED screen because of battery life improvement.

Fyi IIUC this is 90hz panel compared to 60hz 4k option. That itself may make this a better buy. No one would notice resolution difference in such a tiny display. But refresh rate is a different story.

I will choice this option. 4k 60hz drain battery rather much. And 2.8k for 14 inch is good enough for me, and 90hz is better.

Leaving up for reference but this comparison is not valid as the screens are different sizes. The ASUS is still the better buy if you can handle the bigger screen and extra pound, IMO,

I would consider this open box model first.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus...lsrc=aw.ds

It is not on sale but for nearly the same price or approx $100 more depending on if you buy open box or new, you get a better screen (OLED and 120hz with the same resolution) with dedicated graphics, plus a much better processor (12700H so higher wattage).

There is no pen but for that close of price and that much better screen and processor, plus dedicated graphics the ASUS is the better option IMO.

You can't compare a 15.6 inch laptop to a 14 inch laptop. I would prefer this one and think that 14 inch is the ideal laptop size, although everyone has their own preference.

I'm debating canceling the 4k version of this I ordered for this one but for the 4k version I'm paying $170 less with $70 in Lenovo rewards. I do like the 2.8k 90hz screen though.... I was also considering the LG gram but the reviews make it sound kinda flimsy.

me too. i see a lot of reviews about lg gram and this laptop but i still decide to buy 9i. The LG gram is really light and the battery life is very good, but in terms of experience I find it quite inferior, the sound is not good, finishing doesn't look very high end.
I used a laptop about 3 years before replacing it so I want one that was really meticulous about the details. it will make you comfortable hobw during long time use. 10h vs 13h battery life is high difference, but often not used to that extent before recharging, so it's not too serious

I've heard the 4k screen version of this may actually get like 5-8 hours of battery life. For me at least, I mostly use a desktop and just use this at work, often with a charging cable so it's not a huge deal.

I think I'll stick to the 4k screen version I ordered for basically $170 less + $70 lenovo rewards. Cheaper is cheaper.

This. You might run into weird VBA compatibility issues on a Mac.

I inadvertently gave my Yoga C940 a bath about 6 months ago, ended up replacing it with a used C940 (scavenged some parts) and a new 12th Gen Dell XPS13 (with OLED) - in large part because Dell ships to APO/DPO. The Dell runs hot, the battery life is only ok, and the invisible touchpad is ornery at best. If I had to do it again, I'd get another Lenovo... probably will when it's time to replace my wife's C930. Oh yeah, and the Dell (with discount) was still just under $1600 for an I7-1260/16gb/512gb/3.5K OLED @ 60 Hz
