Only thing that brothers me is the Black level is grey when viewing comparing to evo OLED when in a brighter room. Linus Tech did a side by side comparison with the G2/C2

I read that this TV will dim the screen and get darker pretty quickly if the background stays fairly consistent. Supposedly the Sony QD OLED (the A95K) does *not* do this. Anyone know anything about that?
It is because of the heat sink the sony has stops the burn in but this take like 7 mins of a static image to trigger. All other oleds do something to the same effect so it isn't really a big deal unless you are using this for a computer screen and even then not a deal breaker.

QN90A 85" or this?
85" is 65% more TV than a 65". So yeah... you're getting more than double the size.

I didn't like the motion and vertical panning shots would show banding in the middle of the tv. It would constantly happen and I found it annoying
What don't/didn't you like the motion from the QN90A? I have it, and I find that it stutters every 30 seconds or a minute or so... But I'm the kinda person who loves the misnomer "soap opera" effect, while I know most people don't.
Are you able to get a very (glorious) 'opera-y' effect, with this TV?

Bought tv on 7/12, delivered on 7/20. Shot down for the price match because their policy seems to be 15 days from delivery date. Paid $240 more that this, but they had a $200 Samsung credit at the time, so it is what it is. If you bought this towards the end of the last thread on it, you might still stand a chance, but contact them ASAP.

Also outside the return window, but got 7 day added. I have an LG OLED from 2016. It took over 6 years to happen, but I did get some burn in from my Denon receiver displaying the mute speaker symbol. I didn't mute THAT often or very long, but it happened. Also got the word "Dish" from Dish Network on screen display when you bring up menu. Certainly didn't have that up except a few times a week for short periods checking the guide and recording setup. Given age, I am out of luck there.

So, regarding this tv, I am a videophile and I don't ask that my tv be stressed in being good with light in the room. Most of the time, I can get room pretty dark. I have been struggling for weeks with the tv's OS as can't say it is better than LG's at all. Changing inputs, different picture modes etc.. can't get 1303 firmware for whatever reason last time I checked. It is bright and colors make for great picture, but not sure as accurate as my old LG. Stats might say different, but I am interested in real looking picture, not real good TV picture if you know what I mean.

Still a great value vs other choices out there in OLED if you can live with 65" limit (SO wanted to go bigger this time), no DV etc.. I can tell you that viewing the Wrath of Man scene where they rob the armored truck, the blacks still get crushed using the tv app. They get crushed using Roku as well, but viewing them on my Shield via the S95B shows a ton of missing details, so I know it can be done.
I bought mine towards the end of that sale with EPP and it was delivered on 08/03. Contacted customer support yesterday and was told that I'm eligible for $240 price match and I'd get an email in 24-48 hours (no mention of that $200 store credit, so supposedly I'm still getting that after 35 days which would bring the price down to $1640). 🤞

This is why I have been buying warranties on every TV I've purchased in the last several years. I've gotten my money back and gotten a free, or very cheap, upgrade on every set I've purchased. I still have one of the sets since it was only a $3 part and 10 minutes at my soldering station to fix, but warranty companies would rather reimburse me than pay me for a repair so I will take the win. I used to buy broken TVs and fix them for resale or to keep but the logistics of it is ridiculous. It's been easier for me to just pay ~$1500 once, file a warranty claim before it expires, and get a new set with a new warranty. Here's hoping I can keep rolling that single expense until I die... and that I have at least a few months left in me. My Q9FN has been having some power cycling issues and I'd love to pick this or the A95K up as a replacement once prices drop at Best Buy. It's like buying a Tacoma, you only ever have to pay for a single one for the rest of your life if you upgrade yearly. Freaking golden goose of vehicle resale.
Best Buy warranty?

Best Buy warranty?
Maybe I'm thick here - is this something legit - or is he filing a fraudulous claim every year and using the claim $ to buy a new set with new warranty .. repeat?

Not every year, he's doing it every 5 years before the warranty expires.

Would be awesome if someone could post the ideal settings for Q90a. Been looking to make the adjustments
What size? If I remember when I get home later, I'll post Consumer Reports settings.

I purchase a 85 inch QN95a for $2000 and am very happy as it sits in a well lighted room during the day. And size does matter.
