According to fine print, Buy Pixel 6a and get up to $300 back with eligible phone trade-in. Starting on Aug 8, 2022 at 12:00am PT and ending on September 24, 2022 at 11:59pm PT.

The Pixel 5 is also eligible for $300 via trade-in. Can a mod add that to the main post? TIA.

I recommended you document the condition of your old phone to be on the safe side (with either a video and/or photos) - it only takes a few minutes to do so! While the majority of people had no issues with their trade-ins, according to some comments there were cases where the phone got improperly assessed. To cover yourself in case that happens, I strongly suggest you document your phones condition with a video (best) or photos. I took a video of me performing a factory reset, capturing the IMEI number, showing the condition (no screen cracks, no bulging battery), showing it operational (that it turns on/showing the software on the screen), afterwards I powered it off and put it in the phone envelope with packing bubbles (so it doesn't get damaged in transit as there isn't adequate padding in the envelope). I also took a video of me putting the phone in the box and sealing it in there. In case the phone gets assessed incorrectly (them saying it's damaged, wrong phone model was sent, no phone was in the box, battery is bulging, etc), you can let Google know you have documented all of these things and can provide them the videos. I am sure you will be able to overturn the incorrect assessment as you have evidence that contradicts their assessment.

Be aware, some intake companies for the trade-in, such as HYLA Mobile Reconsidered (La Vergne, TN) have dozens of complaints of phones mysteriously going missing on Google (https://www.google.com/search?q=H...considered). Perhaps reconsider trading in if you have to send to one of these locations. It's advisable to look up the address of the receiving company before sending in your trade-in.

Full release of Android 13 is finally here! Everyone with the Pixel 6a that has updated to 13, can you guys comment on the any changes to battery life, phone heat, finger print reader issues and mobile connectivity?

From what I've found it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S10E is probably the best value for trading in. You can find very good/great condition ones on eBay for around $110-$130 For those of you looking to maximize the trade in value like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/165666430056 and the value for trade-in is $390. Hope this helps someone! Smilie

You can find them on Swappa as well for around the same price: https://swappa.com/buy/used/samsung-galaxy-s10e

One caveat to beware is that you may be hit with two $9.99 billing cycle for the credit to be actually credited ($45 - 20 = about $25 in google credit). I did two phones so it was $90 credit, and I am expecting to pay for two months before I cancel.

The $50 store credit promotion ended yesterday. This is a boosted trade-in value promotion for your old phone which ends up being refunded to your original payment method after they receive your old phone and assess it.

Google $50 store credit thread showing it ended on August 7th:

It's Google store credit (only physical products)not Google play. (Digital stuff).....Yes, You do get it this time too.

I signed up for the 2TB plan and ordered 2 devices. I see a pending $44.90 credit for each order. Can I now cancel or downgrade the plan or do I need to have an active premium plan to receive the credit?

Yes I did. Cracked 3axl weird at $292 and received $300 two days after delivery of the tradein. Good process
08-09-2022 at 10:18 PM
I got my credit from this already. Got my 300 for my 3a literally seconds after I got the notice that they had received the trade in.
08-16-2022 at 12:36 PM
They received my 3a trade-in on Aug 8, and I still haven't received credit for it :( (good condition, turns on, no cracks). I contacted Google support today, and they escalated my issue.

You can go through the trade in prompts before purchase to see what they offer. I expect it's much lower, if anything.

(I'm assuming "icloud locked" means it's not factory reset and/or not able to be registered on another iCloud account; not to be confused with carrier unlocked, such as locked to AT&T, which I have traded in just fine in the past).
08-10-2022 at 06:35 PM
No, it specifically must be reset with no cloud account tied in.

Just look up reviews for the older pixels, it's the exact same main sensor...P6 uses a new module, so video is much better.

Why on earth use Total Wireless when it’s at the bottom of prioritization list (data soo slow) even worse since Verizon took over last year!
I’ve been trying to escape them for months with my number but they’re pretty good at holding it hostage, always an excuse why the port didn’t go thru, last one was “outside of business hours”

I just selected the Pixel 3 64GB as a trade-in and they offered me $85. I haven't placed my order yet though. The lack of wireless charging making me nervous. My Pixel 3 can no longer charge via USB and only sometimes charges wirelessly. :(

They gave me $295 for a pixel 3a that has a cracked screen
The Pixel 6A has a bigger battery than the 4A, both phones charge at 18 watts. If the 6A appears to charge slower it's due to the bigger battery. I was reading the 6A doesn't charge too much slower than flagships on a Reddit thread where someone compared the charging times. The phone learns your application usage patterns so it can manage the battery better and deprioritize applications you don't use. The result is extended battery life. I think it can take a few days for it to deliver those optimizations, but I'm sure it's always doing that in the background to optimize battery based on your current application usage. Adaptive charging also I believe further increases battery life. They've done a lot to try to improve battery life and battery performance. It definitely lasts way longer than my 4A but I also know the 4A battery needed replacement (the phone ended up being sluggish/slow and getting hot, battery draining fast so had to charge it several times a day).

My opinions about the phone:
I think the coolest thing about the 6A is the machine learning and artificial intelligence and how it powers so many different things the phone does. I basically have no issues with speech to text. I was reading it has a 99% success rate for voice diction which is more than anything else on the market. It also uses that stuff for photo and video processing/editing and tons of other stuff I can't name off the top of my head. They have some of the best spam and phishing filtering for texts and calls (plus call screening). I always use hold for me so I never have to hold when I'm put on hold lol. And then direct my call is super useful as well. They're just so many small things that the phone does that make every day life easier for me. I think what I like about the phone most is it makes everything easier and faster to do (it's really efficient).

Edit: Forgot to mention how useful Google Assistant is for setting up reminders (can do actually a ton of stuff) and the "Recorder" app by Google for voice recording presentations it also saves a transcription.
Here's the official 4 minute run down about the Pixel 6A from the Google I/O conference which talks about features, functionality, security, etc. Good for anyone that wants to learn about the phone.

Wish I had my pixel 4a back! For some reason my battery life on 6a sucks no matter.how many settings I changed. Takes forever to charge using same charger I was using with my 4a. My 2 year old pixel 4a had better battery life than my new 6a. Super disappointed 😞

From the last mega thread, it seemed that people were able to do 2 of each color, so 6 in total for each google account.

I was able to trade in a Pixel 3A for $300 trade credit. I'm assuming we get the $50 Google Store credit some time after the phone is delivered?
