The price for your old phone depends on the phone you are buying... If I buy the 6a I get 300 for my pixel 4a... But if I buy the pixel6 they only offer me 80 for my pixel 4a. Weird.

Anyone know the limit per household/person is for trade in? I did this last time and want to do it again
Following the old thread customer service said there is no limit. Each trade-in needs to be a separate order though.

This is pretty huge and it's going on until September 24 (last day). It's an incredible phone at an unbeatable value. There's just so many useful features they baked into Pixel that makes the phone worthwhile imo. It's nice to see that they're being really aggressive with promotions and trade-ins to generate a lot of sales.

"Buy Pixel 6a and get up to $300 back with eligible phone trade-in. Starting on Aug 8, 2022 at 12:00am PT and ending on September 24, 2022 at 11:59pm."

Trade-in table for the Pixels and the amount you'll get is here (wasn't sure how to post a table on Slickdeals),:

Wondering the same!? Also just got $300 instead of $292 for cracked pixel 3a xl with free buds. Want to get the same phone for my wife I just don't know how to convince her. (I didn't tell her I traded old broken phone for my new phone 😅)
How did you get the free buds?

Do any experienced Google watchers care to opine on what this portends for a sale of the 6A without any trade-in?

The way I do the math is that I can buy a used 3A with cracked screen on e-bay for ~100 dollars means I net $200 savings. $450-$200=$250. I'd rather just pay $300 for the 6A and not have to deal with the hassle. But I dunno when the Pixel 6A will go on sale for that price and if its worth waiting for.

As discussed in the previous thread, this trade offer is likely an effective way for Google to eliminate their older devices from the market, particularly those that offered some form of unlimited back up. Newer devices would not help Google accomplish this, so the trade in value would be less.

Wish I had my pixel 4a back! For some reason my battery life on 6a sucks no matter.how many settings I changed. Takes forever to charge using same charger I was using with my 4a. My 2 year old pixel 4a had better battery life than my new 6a. Super disappointed 😞

I'm still waiting on the trade in credit from before. I need a second one and want to order but they still haven't applied my$44 store credit yet from the first order. Anyone find the expiration date of the promo this time. Fine print still refers to the pre-order dates.

The store credit is always going to be 30 days after it has shipped. I don't think anyone has had the phone for 30 days yet. The store credit is a Google One membership benefit and not tied to any specific promotion. It just requires you to have a Google One membership at the time of ordering and at the time of them issuing the credit. The credit is good for one year.

As far as the trade-in refund goes countless people got their refund with no issue.

The Pixel 6A has a bigger battery than the 4A, both phones charge at 18 watts. If the 6A appears to charge slower it's due to the bigger battery. I was reading the 6A doesn't charge too much slower than flagships on a Reddit thread where someone compared the charging times. The phone learns your application usage patterns so it can manage the battery better and deprioritize applications you don't use. The result is extended battery life. I think it can take a few days for it to deliver those optimizations, but I'm sure it's always doing that in the background to optimize battery based on your current application usage. Adaptive charging also I believe further increases battery life. They've done a lot to try to improve battery life and battery performance. It definitely lasts way longer than my 4A but I also know the 4A battery needed replacement (the phone ended up being sluggish/slow and getting hot, battery draining fast so had to charge it several times a day).

My opinions about the phone:
I think the coolest thing about the 6A is the machine learning and artificial intelligence and how it powers so many different things the phone does. I basically have no issues with speech to text. I was reading it has a 99% success rate for voice diction which is more than anything else on the market. It also uses that stuff for photo and video processing/editing and tons of other stuff I can't name off the top of my head. They have some of the best spam and phishing filtering for texts and calls (plus call screening). I always use hold for me so I never have to hold when I'm put on hold lol. And then direct my call is super useful as well. They're just so many small things that the phone does that make every day life easier for me. I think what I like about the phone most is it makes everything easier and faster to do (it's really efficient).

Edit: Forgot to mention how useful Google Assistant is for setting up reminders (can do actually a ton of stuff) and the "Recorder" app by Google for voice recording presentations it also saves a transcription.
Here's the official 4 minute run down about the Pixel 6A from the Google I/O conference which talks about features, functionality, security, etc. Good for anyone that wants to learn about the phone.

Looks like they waited for it to end.

Update 8/6: The US Google Store will end its $50 credit promo with a $449 Pixel 6a purchase on Sunday, August 7 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
