I own this... You likely won't find better for this price. It is noticeably brighter than any of the sub $150 projectors you'd find on Amazon. Make no mistake though, it still needs to be basically dark to get a good image from this.

The only issue is no real keystoning and the way the unit is designed its meant to sit flat. So you have to raise it to the height needed for where you want it projected. Not a quick thing to setup on-the-fly if you want to maximize clarity and low distortion.

....that said, of you want a movie night and willing to figure out the best placement for dirt cheap - this is it.

Made a follow-up post with confirmation of specs.

As for the naysayers in this thread...What the ever loving **** are you doing in a 55 dollar projector thread? You obviously only think projectors have one use case and thats to be brighter than the sun. Since your view is so effing narrow, I can't fathom what your minuscule brains thought they would find in this deal, but it's pretty apparent you're insane.

What they meant for 'Portable' is easy to move/carry it from one place to the other. It does not have built in battery. I purchased this projector fron previous deal and returned it. FYI, projector has native 1080p, and if you keep your screen size to about 40 inch, it is quite watchable even with low ambient light. But it wasnt just enogh for me. If you really want portable projector, invest little more and get Xgimi Halo or Wemax Dice, highgly recommend it.

One thing I notice is the corners are soft, but only 3 of them. 1 of the corners is sharp when I focus into the center of the projector. I'm guessing this is a tolerance of how properly the lens is aligned

Vignetting is not a problem but corner sharpness is definitely soft on 3 of them. From reasonable distance you do not really notice

If anyone else can confirm on theirs. Bottom left sharp when center in focus. Top left, a little soft but mostly sharp. Top right much softer. Bottom right is the softest and quite blurry. Text in the menu extremely soft and smeared. In movie watching likely less noticeable

Are you seriously checking for lens alignment and vignetting given a $55 optic + everything else that goes into a projector? Are you going to hound the seller for this? I've had loupes that cost more than this.

You also should consider that the optic is tilted upward at a slight angle, so just aligning its optical axis fully perpendicular to a truly flat projecting surface is not going to be a non-brainer.

This is a cheap-and-cheery device. Not a $3-20k camera lens.

No i'm not I'm just trying to get the best out of it. You don't need a $3K camera lens to get something sharp. Fixed camera lenses in the $100 range are plenty sharp. And camera lenses for large format film cameras are also tack sharp. Simple lens designs tend to be sharper, which is why I was comparing here. And as you can see the lens IS sharp in all parts of the image, they are just on different focal planes, which is why I am comparing alignment here.

in my testing, I would say though I would reduce the contrast to 45 or so, increase the saturation to about 55, and then for my taste set the sharpness value to 15 or so. The default setting of 50, the ringing is way too strong for my taste.

No the projector is more than good for the price. I'd pay $99+ tax that they were selling it at walmart in a heartbeat.

The focus issue I was talking about is only noticeable in the menus. Watching videos it is not a problem and you can't see it

Everything else like contrast/color, etc. is very, very good

It also has upside down projection enabling the projector to be mounted on the ceiling inverted. It has a separate power brick like laptops which also have to be stuck or mounted on the ceiling if doing that. Super value for the money.

I agree unbelievable for $55. I've looked at other sub $100 options and not only are they not 1080p but the keystoning feature destroys the optics and makes them not sharp. This one is sharp except up close reading text you do notice the whole image not being in focus. I feel like some days it looks better than others too.

One thing I found out today: the V30SE's USB port is sufficient to power a Roku Express 4k+, so you don't need to run another power cord.

No, the V30SE won't provide power through the USB port when it's off… but the new Roku powers-up so fast (~2 seconds) it's a non-issue for me.

The V30SE + Roku Express 4k+ combination is also much better (smoother, higher frame rate, less audio/video desync) than trying to screen mirror even for those apps that allow it. It's highly recommended. The Fire stick might work just as well, but I can't attest to it.

For me the PC is the best option at the moment. Because of how I use it I prefer the studio monitors plugged into my PC

Also being easier to play pirate websites for movies.

I watched the youTube reviews before buying this, I must have gotten a dud because mine has awful contrast and brightness. I was going to use this in the back yard, but it is so bad I don't even want to do that. Mine is at least 50% worse than any of the youTube video's that were posted in this deal thread

i've tried all the adjustments and they don't even work, it has the exact same picture if I set anything to 0 or to 100 ( brightness, contrast, sharpness etc ) same for other settings ( video, standard, etc )

I tried the factory RESET two different times and that didn't change any of these problems.

It is 150 ansi lumens. It is not bright. The adjustments do work, but they are minimal at best. The sharpness is the most noticeable

I can say it is durable too. I have dropped it from 5 foot and it seemed to take no damage
