Rumor is it will have a body temperature monitor that will alert you when you may have a fever. I don't think that will persuade me. The real big thing they are hopefully close to perfecting are continuous blood pressure and glucose monitoring. That would be amazing, but what I've read is that they haven't been able to get either of those features up to their, or FDA, standards.
Thanks. It's a reliable BP monitor and/or a continual blood sugar monitor that would motivate me to upgrade. I bought an Apple Watch years ago to monitor my sleep when Jawbone Up's service choked. No regrets, Apple's watch hardware has been superb for nearly 24/7 wearing. The competition was FitBit and their hardware wasn't much cheaper but was much less reliable and attractive. I always buy cellular for 911 availability. Almost tempted by this deal but it offers little I could care about over the 6 aluminum.

The crystal screen face makes a huge difference too, I went stainless years ago because of the screen. I work construction and the ionX glass version will be scratched all to hell in a few months, but the sapphire glass crystal looks brand new… a year later.

To all the happy SS owners in here - what are you all doing when your battery capacity starts going below 85%?

I have an s6 that I've had for around 16 months now and have noticed that capacity to take a little dip.

I can understand keeping these watches around for a while due to their durability, but are you folks sending these back to Apple to replace the batteries?

It's not just the case, it's the glass too. Aluminum comes with Ion-X, the premium case materials come with sapphire coated glass and it looks a lot better and is much harder to scratch.

Why out of curiosity? I'd think a cheap bumper would be sufficient for added protection for pretty much 100% of us and be significantly cheaper

What do you use to polish your watch? Always wanted but never tried. Thanks.
Cape Cod Polish Cloths. Tons of videos out there.

Either you buy apple care + and they will replace the battery for free after it gets to 80% although there is some leeway. Sometimes if you complain they'll do it at 85. And sometimes they just give you a whole new watch.

Alternatively, go the the apple store and pay $80 for them to replace the battery.

AppleCare isn't an option for me unfortunately but good to know about taking it into the Apple store! Thanks!

Apple replaces the entire watch. Last month I brought my SS series 4 to Apple for a battery replacement. About $ 80. They sent me the identical model, but a different watch. Different serial number. They do restore your settings. I don't know if they send a factory reconditioned watch or just a used trade in with a new battery. Great if it's a reconditioned one.

Rumors are a possible new form factor/more rugged S8, but the latest is no new sensors.

I picked up an "eBay refurbished" S6 stainless back in April for about $300 (currently $319) and it's been great. I'm really careful with my watch but the screen on my 18 month old S5 had tons of micro, and one not so micro, scratches.

The used stainless still looks brand new and I wear it all day every day, including overnight, and just take it off to charge.

I almost bought this but the fact that I can't get the nike digital watch face is such a slap in the face. It's the only good looking digital watch face with complications around the edges.

For those who don't know, the real value in SS & Titanium models is the nearly indestructible Sapphire glass, instead of the scratch-prone ION-X glass on Aluminum models. Most decent mechanical watches came with sapphire for many decades for longevity, and it's no different with Apple watches.

This is a fantastic deal if you've been eyeing these higher end sapphire Apple watches. I've had my series 4 black stainless (w/ DLC coating) for almost 4 years now. Not a scratch on the body or the display.

Battery-wise, Apple can replace them for anyone for $79. If you bought AppleCare it actually sucks, because they want your battery capacity to dip below 80% in order to replace it.

So tempting and yes, the stainless and sapphire = will look good for years to come, as on any higher quality watch (I must have sapphire, even on mid range).

Do we know if the 41mm comes in Stainless or only 45? I am hoping to use some bands i have from my series 3 (38mm) but not a big bummer if I have to buy new bands (since that's part of the consumerism of these things lol)
