Heat dissipation is a disaster, and the sound of fans is particularly loud, but most laptops are the same.
I almost purchased this today... Until I read the overheating issues. Many of the units hitting 95-99c after only gaming for 10 minutes. I cannot imagine the laptop would last long with those temps. I would think the non lead solder joints would pop from that much heat.

Any coupons for this? Also is this better than the Acer refurb deal?
The refurb Acer has 16GB ram, a better CPU (100MHz faster base & turbo), and better heat dissipation -- but it should also be noted that the one area this G15 might have been better is the 95W 3050Ti whereas the refurb acer is 75W 3050 Ti. But if the G15 can't keep the temps down, it will thermal throttle.
So I'd pass on this and say the refurb Acer is still the better deal.

Yes.definitely a big issue of this laptop.
My graphics card was desoldered because it was overheated, but i just played EU4 on it!Just 2 hours!
The guy in the Dell Center said that they didn't weld it well at the beginning and i get mine fixed though. Now i play Genshin on it once in a while, eveything fine now,but the noise is still unbearable.

You'd need double that temp to pop a solder joint.

Pretty good deal. Bought one in March for nearly $200 more. Don't have overheating issues yet but then again the most graphics intensive game I've played is M&B Bannerlord. It does produce a lot of heat, as expected, so not lap friendly.
Even though it has an empty nvme slot for another ssd, it doesn't come with a mounting bracket (or at least mine didn't). You'll have to buy it separately if you want to add more storage. Fits both 2240 and 2280 sizes. Comes with 1 stick of ram so you can add another and get 16gb easily. Screen may be too dim for outdoor usage in direct sunlight. Haven't tested this myself since I only use it in my home, but even then my brightness is already at near max.
I am going to wait until this weekend as MA tax is exempt . The Acer for the extra 100 Im getting more ram and I believe a better screen. Still waiting for someone with more knowledge on laptops to respond to my link.
I cannot find the wattage for the video card listed on the site from this deal for some reason.
UPDATE:
According to this, it's 80 watts actually, NOT 95 watts: https://www.dell.com/en-us/lp/hmc...hics-cards

Undervolted the GPU quite nicely to reduce temps and fan noise and still boosts to stock boost clocks.
Chassis definitely sacrifices portability though, it won't fit in a couple of my backpacks that advertise 15.6 laptop size.
