$350 premium over the yoga 71 and 2" smaller screen. Unless portability is a priority that's a much better deal than this 9i. Don't think that OLED screen is worth the price difference and it will drain your batteries much faster than an LCD + possible burn-in.

Anyone else seeing the screen door effect?

These 14" 2.8k oled screens are all Samsung screens I believe and this screen is used in many other laptops such as the Lenovo slim 7, Asus zenbook, basically any laptop with a 14" 2.8k screen. I don't see most reviews really talking about graininess in the screen though.
I've read that it's somehow related to touchscreen OLEDs. I looked at an Asus laptop in store that had the same resolution OLED panel and did not see any screen door pattern in the screen, but it was not a touchscreen.

Fantastic laptop with some seriously impressive thermals. I loaded forza horizon 5, which obviously didn't run spectacular, but did manage respectable performance and fans were at full throttle in my lap for over ten minutes and no part of the chassis ever got even remotely above body temperature. I think my main gripe are the rightmost function keys. I much rather would have seen home, page up, page down, etc. Vs the random camera blur button and battery modes and such. Also, the keyboard feel is light years better than the 7i, combined with the oled, cinched the purchase for me. Speakers are also phenomenal, with the rotating bar and bottom firing speakers for added bass and sound. Zero complaints for watching movies on the go. Highly recommend this little beast.

How would an OLED use more energy compared to an lcd?

I had my eyes on this model but eventually got an LG Gram 17 from Costco for about the same price and it's been great. Very light, quiet, great screen and the size of older 15.6 laptops.

I don't know why but all of the reviews say they do use more power.

From all the reviews the 2.8k screen is 90hz

That's awesome, but why wouldn't they advertise that?

edit: A Q&A on the product listing asks if it's 90hz, and a support representative said no. They linked a datasheet

-
Please be informed that the display of all the Yoga 9i Gen 7 Intel (14") - (82LU) laptop models have 60Hz display.
Please refer to this link below for complete specification:
https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/...eet_EN.pdf
-

And the seemingly matching display on the datasheet is this one:
14" 2.8K OLED (2880 x 1800) IPS, 400 nits, 100% DCI-P3, 60 Hz, 16:10 (WQHD+) Touchscreen
