It's a sticky tape and I had to remove it for my windshield replacement. I recommend heating it up and use the string provided to remove it. Otherwise, it's hell of a job.
Might be a good idea to buy the warranty with this one. I've heard tons of people having issues with screens scrambling and video with artifacts. The main problem is getting support if you have issues with it. I heard of the support issues a couple of years ago, though. It's possible they've improved. I own it and haven't had any issues in the year I've had it. It's a fantastic front dash cam that can survive high heat.
Can these be remounted into another car if I switch cars permanently? Is it sticky tape? Is it reusable?
No the sticky tape is specific to your specific car and moving it will void the warranty and you are subject to arrest if moved.

If you are in ny, these things are not that useful. Your insurance pay up even if it's not your fault. It only matters if it ends up being serious. At least a fracture or you totalled cars that exceed your coverage limit.

I was in a car accident last week and I wish I had a dash camera and back camera recording the accident. Does anyone recommend a good quality brand in a $250 or less range. Thanks in advance
lol, you know he posted right above you, right?
I'm going to give it a try. I have had a couple that have failed me due to hot weather, one of them running me $500. Let's see if I can resume trusting you guys...

I have two of these in my minivan... One in the front and one in the back. It's perfect for me because I have an extra charge port in the back. Depending on your car, this may be the way to go. The only real advantage of getting a 2 in 1 system is that you'll save yourself a charging port and the need to purchase an extra sd card. Viofo is consistently rated as a top vehicle camera, so this is their 2 in 1 should be good for you.
my dual viofo a129 plus with wifi ability to quickly download videos to the phone came in handy. I have 2 vehicle's with a129 duo front & rear set working great for 3+ yrs in the cold and slight warmer temp (west coast).
-mini USB part didn't bother me since it's only used to power & I don't have to ever touch it again after set up
-their 3m adhesive didn't hold the camera long enough so I had to use my own double sided tape brought from Amazon
🚨🚨🚨FYI- their static sticker goes to the window first, then u apply the 3m adhesive to the camera and stick to the static sticker not the window which makes it much easier to remove.
- it isn't hard to move this btw vehicles but just take time as you have to move and do wire again & have extra double sided tape.
-one of them had a issue where wifi wasn't working and their support took a lot of time, but since I bought it through Amazon I was able to return and get a new one that worked great(within 30d).
This one does not have that wifi feature. Is the video quality same btw a119 v3 and the a129 plus?

I don't understand why still mini-USB cable. That means no reuse of existing cable if you already have one micro-USB wired.

...mini-USB?
Not micro-USB, which has been around nearly forever. Not USB-C that's ubiquitous, from cellphones to chargers to laptops.
No, we're taking a walk back in time here to a historic time when mini-USB ruled the Earth! In all seriousness, you've got to be kidding me. Devices made today should be USB-C, period.
But using a standard that's 2 generations older than current? That's a joke which isn't even funny.

Wow, this is a deal breaker for me. I got rid of all those mini-USB with my MP3 player about a DECADE AGO!! WTF would the manufacturer do that???!!
I got around this by buying a cheap adapter cable. I had spent a while neatly routing the microUSB hardwire cable to the fuse box to power my previous cam and when I switched to this A119 V3 decided to just use an adapter.
I can't remember what I'd bought but these are examples:

This would be able establish fault. Fault would ultimately determine whose insurance rate is going up after the insurance companies settle up.

To save a dime. Seriously though.... You set this up once and never touch it again. For a device like this, I'm ok with the cost cutting. For something that I have to plug in daily, USB-C all the way.
Also following this question - if you have a front and back option for under 150 that would be great - thank you
Sadly I'm waiting for the a129 plus front and rear to go back on sale. It was less than 150 on sale but now it's 169.

Literally doesn't matter though - it's only being used for power. To view the videos, just pop the SD card in your PC.
