Specs:
  • 11.6" HD Display
  • Intel Celeron N3450 1.1GHz Processor
  • 4GB LPDDR4-2133 RAM
  • 64GB eMMC Storage (has M.2 2242 slot for SSD)
  • Intel HD Graphics 500
  • microSD Card Reader
  • Wi-Fi 4 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0
  • Windows 10 Pro Education
SSD Upgrade:

This laptop has a single M.2 2242 slot that you can install a good SSD to get a significant increase in performance for daily usage as compared to the crappy eMMC.

SSD Install Video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUnL-Td3jBE

Recommendation to get best performance:
Since the system (Windows OS) is slowest running on the crappy on-board 64GB eMMC, I would highly recommend to clean install Win10 via bootable USB to the new SSD and wipe the 64GB on-board drive,
- or if you do not want to do that:
---- download and install something like Mini Partition Wizard on the laptop, and copy/migrate the entire on-board 64GB storage to the new SSD which will copy everything (including Windows and recover partitions).
---- then go into the BIOS/UEFI settings and set the new SSD as the first boot device. And you can now wipe/format the crappy 64GB eMMC and use it as free storage for whatever.

Done.

LTE module - can't find any specification, but while checking FCC-ID looks like LTE module was tested for the following LTE bands: 2, 5, 12, 13, 66, 71

I'd delete Windows and install a Linux OS like Zorin, Pop OS or Manjaro xfce,
Having jumped on the netbook craze many years ago and finding them to be basically unusuable, I wonder if this is in the same vein? 4GB RAM and a Celeron processor - even for the price, isn't running on Windows on this kind of a struggle? I mean, maybe SUPER light tasking, like a Gmail window, and maybe some Youtube surfing, certainly not many tabs open at once.

I get that this is only $60, but Windows seems so resource intensive relative to Chromebooks which have similar specs right?

Same price and posted a couple times. This version doesn't have the LTE modem and slot to install a separate drive.

According to the MC reviews, supposedly there are many revisions of this laptop. The old one had LTE modem on m.2 slot it which you can swap it out with an m.2 SSD. However, the new revision LTE was removed and does not have the m.2 slot at all so not possible. You will need to find the one with LTE.

How would this compare to a raspberry pi 4? I'm looking for something to emulate old game systems.

Some of the latest reviews say that with the newer model of the laptop, they removed the lte sim slot and made the laptop storage non upgradeable

I had one of the older revisions of this netbook (that came with the LTE card). WiFi was not recognized out of the box. Newer revisions seem to have issues with both the WiFi and the sound. It otherwise runs an XFCE-based distro OK, but be aware of what you're getting into and don't expect a machine that plays nice with Linux out of the box (it's going to require a lot of tinkering).

I also had to return mine because of a defective keyboard (key presses were often registering multiple times), so try it out in the store's parking lot to make sure it works OK or budget time for a return trip just in case. I imagine $60 laptops don't go through the most rigorous QC procedures. LMAO
