Green and Blue are cheaper than Black. Osprey Aura is an equivalent backpack in women's sizes and is also special in purple. This is an excellent backpack very comfortable, durable, and well designed. At 4 pounds 10 oz it is too heavy for through-hiking but otherwise an excellent choice.

just wanted to thank you for actually responding/explaining in a non-condescending manner, and adding your own personal experience. weird how many people can't stand a joke (although to be fair i guess was the third person to make one in the same vein)..but i'd still rather have someone attempt to make a joke than crap on a deal they don't care or know nothing about, which seems to happen far more often.

What's a good bag that's half weight and same price?
My apologies - my phrasing was confusing. I meant that they paid the same price for their pack as I paid for mine, which was not this sale price.

In the price range I paid, some of the lighter packs I encountered that I remember were the ULA Ohm 2.0, the Osprey Exos, and I believe quite a few Granite Gear and Gossamer Gear bags.

But to reiterate, for $200 this is an excellent pack. Just wanted to note that my personal experience ultimately led me to value weight savings on my pack more than I initially thought I would.

I can attest. Osprey has been replacing buckles from my bags that are 12 years old. Easy process too.
Nice! thanks for sharing

I also own an Exos and it's in a different category. Mine has a 48L capacity and it just isn't built for carrying a lot of gear. I did a 2-day hike with it this week carrying about 28 lbs and my shoulders and back were sore by the end of it.

The Osprey website has a wizard for helping to choose an appropriate backpack for your needs: https://www.osprey.com/us/en/packfinder/

I'm currently also seeing Blue and Green for $204.95

Latest model. No sales tax. Shipping is free from Germany via FedEx Priority which took 2 days for me to Seattle.

This is one of the best backpacks in it's class. $325 at REI [rei.com]. Amazon $300. Be sure you get the right size.

For anyone wondering, this company is legit. Do your research but my research lead me to purchase. Most reviews you'll find are in the vein "Prices seemed too good to be true so I was skeptical, but I got what I ordered fast".

One caveat - prices on this website seem to fluctuate quickly and by a lot. If you don't see a good price today check other colors or back at a later point.
great price for a great backpack, the blue L/XL is $205 for me.

If only I were a backpacker...

Just wanted to add that Osprey packs are top quality. They've got many different sizes and configurations for any need. A little pricey, but if you're a hiker, they're among the best you can get for the money.

Correcting my post, this price is for the small version

$200 for Gray on Amazon, a little more for Black. WAY better return policy. Lol
That's for a small size only, the large is almost $100 more on amazon.

Just YouTube backpack fitting. While everyone's torso to leg length ratio is different around 5'10" and taller you are probably going to measure yourself needing the L/XL size.
I'm 6'3 and assumed large, but needed a medium. Unfortunately I bought at peak Covid shutdown and didn't actually measure.

Osprey has measuring instructions on their site. Do not assume due to size !

Just last night I was watching a "Darwin OnTheTrail" video where he was packing a 35L for a 300 mile trek. I always wanted a 65L but it seems too big these days - like a Cadillac from the 70s.

They quit those in favor of an online used gear store... https://www.rei.com/promotions/garage-sale

I looked at some of the used prices and they're laughable. Example [rei.com]

Just another reason to dislike REI now if you needed one.
They usually have a garage sale with returns in the back of the store. Prices are worse than the older garage sales.

They don't charge tax

I didn't want one of these since they are bigger than I need as a car camper, but then I saw REI was getting $325, and Bob's wasn't charging tax or shipping, so I decided to "invest" in a pack I might use lol

makes me wonder if there is an import duty, store reviews seem ok, maybe they prepay it...

I'm not sure how it works but it doesn't attract the attention of customs and it can actually end up shipping fast than Amazon Prime.

Looks like the price for all colors/sizes is now $340, so deal is dead for now.

The Gregory Katmai [bobleisure.com] could be a good alternative.

I got a confirmation email and order # for the listed price and nothing added (shipping, tax etc)
Paypal sent the payment to a German company that seems legit from web posts.
This company and website are pretty mysterious (people get their stuff in 2 days - from Germany!). If I actually get the pack delivered I'm going to check them for other items because they seem to have a pattern of epic deals

https://www.tetongravity.com/foru...one/page2?

The packs are showing as back in stock for the deal price
